If a person still supports Trump because he said he would make daily life more affordable, take care of crime, end foreign wars, and prosecute people in the Epstein files, guess what: nope. He did the literal opposite of all those things, so if they haven't seen the light, it's too late.

I can forgive someone for having fallen for those lines in 2016, IF they've repented and made amends since then. Otherwise, it was really the racism, sexism, transphobia, and the hope that they would get their turn to tread on thee.

Starting to sundown Trump: I could shoot someone and you’d still vote for me. Fully sundownt Trump: Hold my beer…

Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

I'm sure John Deaton (moderate Republican running for senate in MASS) is a decent person, but I don't understand how a voter today could take it as given that electing someone "nonpartisan" is a value in and of itself, over electing someone who will protect trans children from dehumanization.

Like, the Platonic ideal of "Being an Independent" sounds nice, but after 6 years of Trump bungling literally everything, no one is looking for middle ground between hatred, chaos, and overt corruption on one side and literally anything else on the other.

It will never not be funny to me when Fox News etc. refers to "leftists" and "rich normie libs" as if they are exactly the same groups with indistinguishable beliefs and social mores.

Like, I think that most people who are broadly or culturally "on the left" understand that, e.g., David Brooks, Pete Hegseth, and my Uncle Rick have different flavors of conservatism from each other.

“how do we win back trump voters in 2026” we don’t. we create an environment where admitting to voting for trump is so socially embarrassing as to render them completely inert. you don’t “win back” trump voters. you demoralize them into staying home. you make it a dunce cap

The thing that I think needs to come back to video games is all of the lore, drama, cutscenes etc. needs to be stuff that you seek out instead of something the game holds your hand and walks you through. I hate watching a cutscene to walk down a hall and then into another cutscene.

When I glance at LinkedIn and every "white collar professional" I know is glazing AI, it's the same thing as when I look at Youtube and every YT-er is sponsored by Square Space. They just have to pretend it doesn't suck because they have all the money.

I spy on The Blaze every now and again to get a read on what narratives they're following. Today they posted an op ed about "Sure people are celebrating Gloria Steinem's life's work. But right now she's being judged by god for the abortion she had at 22." Everything is Aww shucks Christo fascism.

The RW will always frame its beliefs as common sense, middle of the road, logical, goes without question, and anyone who opposes them as radical, elitist, out of touch. But they're advocating for forever war and we need to fight against things that are totally happening, yes, definitely.

The "radical left" position is we should treat trans people the way I would want to be treated myself, and that people should be able to afford groceries, insurance, education, and housing.

Gas too expensive? It's because of pronouns. WalMart greeter says Happy Holidays? It's because of trans. AOC is a godless commie but she's hot and this is now the world's problem. It's because of high taxes.

Yesterday it was "Young people can't participate in the economy in the way their parents did." OK, seems like a moment of lucidity; maybe it'll head towards "Trump promised one thing and delivered an unrelated thing. Who on the Right could deliver on those promises?" But nope! Instead...

It talks about it's too hard for young people to afford private school because the public schools are full of Godless communists who want to make Black people dependent on Democrats, the exact same story they've been telling since Reagan and never really gotten too far away from.

Trump and the R's are leaning HEAVILY on transphobia, since they can't offer anything about the economy or public safety. Seth Moulton ran as a Dem who "has concerns" about trans athletes hurting his daughters, and Ed Markey, old AF, absolutely obliterated his transphobic ass.

1. Anti-trans Democrat Seth Moulton just lost his Senate primary in a LANDSLIDE to outspoken trans ally Ed Markey. To Moulton, trans kids were a liability the Democratic Party needed to abandon. But to Massachusetts voters, the only liabilities are Democrats like him.

It's weird that every article about Ed Markey vs Moulton is framed as being about age and not about Moulton's incredibly misguided anti-trans statements. Ed Markey is on the correct side of being an ally.

I'm used to Republicans taking something a Democrat actually said and giving a bad faith read ("Obama's out here complaining about the price of arugula at Whole Foods while real Americans care about kitchen table issues"). What's different about Trump is he's just ranting about stuff he imagined.

Weird how none of these newfound champions for women when it comes to Jon Ossoff saying (gasp!) that Trump "wants to travel with Natalie" have anything to say about the outstanding 3 million documents in the Epstein files that are being suppressed by this administration.

i still see reactionaries say we need a “reckoning” over woke 1 and i truly don’t know what they mean at this point. the right is firmly in power and we get 2 articles a week bemoaning the excesses of wokeness. what else are you looking for?
