Formerly CJ, Shadax, or Chimera_Brain elsewhere online. I post a lot of adequately painted miniatures, old PlayStation games, and some leftist nonsense. Usually nice.

I feel like if I were selling an ereader that interfaces with my ebook shop where I can actually grab the first page of a popular book fairly easily, I would make some effort to imply that it makes reading easy and is not some sort of stroke simulator

For the most part I don’t mind being middle-aged but if I had known that I was going to be making the same sound the Quake guy does when he jumps every time I got off the couch for the rest of my life I might have treasured my youth a little more.

The emperor has realized he’s been naked this the entire time and the only logical solution is not to put clothes back on but rather to execute everyone that saw his weird dick

I often look out for old pulp publisher logos from Europe (and sometimes make t-shirts out of them) and have just come across this great one. Who can resist a skeleton in a top hat wielding a cane?

even if you are able to put aside all the other issues with AI-first development, every game you love is that way because a handful of perverts went insane spending thousands of hours tweaking variables the end player may not realize existed.

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

I sometimes get fooled by a YouTube video of jazz fusion Mega Man covers or whatever but it doesn’t take long for the ear to pick out that there is something wrong, either structurally or in the lack of emotional weight. Our brains pick up on the suffering that goes into creation. Craves it even.

I had to go on Twitter to confirm this was real because Ship Awesome Games In A Weekend having a hand with six fingers was so on the nose I was about to pass out

I was writing out my major scales by hand and realized the site I was using to check my work was ~vibe-coded~ and never reviewed because once you get into the semitones it just starts making up technically correct but insane names for the keys

I love seeing the ways Office continues to try and trick me into saving important documents in increasingly nebulous and unreachable corners of OneDrive through Misdirection and outright Lies instead of trusting me to save it to My Documents (which is already backed up to OneDrive).

I can’t overstate how funny it is to me that Games Workshop’s marquee fantasy line’s big new faction, after 11 years and four editions, is ”regular dwarfs with big beards and shields and shit”

They‘ve had Feral Naked Dwarfs Riding Dinosaurs, Mechsuit Dwarfs In Dirigibles, and Let’s Clear The Warehouses Of Old Sculpts By Making One Faction For A Bunch of WFB Lines Including Dwarfs. Last year they even really botched reintroducing Chaos Dwarfs! But it took 11 years to add Regular-ass Dwarfs

I’m not going to make everyone else take psychic damage while I keep putting my hand on this stove but I want everyone to see the awful My First Warhammer Mini eyes half the cards in this set have.

left unattended, five squirrels could completely destroy the U.S.S. Enterprise, though it would take eight total to chew through the red shirts first.

It is kind of fun to think that we now have a baseline of how many squirrels it takes to kill your favorite Trek characters. Picard can be felled by 4 squirrels but Trelane, as a member of the omnipotent Q Continuum, can requires 5.

In the Japanese PC-88 port of Ultima 3: Exodus by Pony Canyon, if you try to Talk/Transact (T key) to an enemy monster, they literally say "FUCK YOU!!" in English. Hilarious, and apparently nobody has discovered or posted about this before online in English or Japanese

it was the retiree that looked like Sammy Hagar and his wife who looked like Steven Tyler, who spent the entire time I was there haggling shipping prices with dead-eyed teen on the other side of the counter.

Trying to figure out who in this crowded UPS Store drives the Cybertruck with a lavender wrap like it’s a wide angle shot at the start of A Knives Out Mystery

It’s been a few months since I played Brutalist Quake Jam 3 but I’m still struck by how great of a name “Penis Day At The Gym” was compared to how awful of a level it turned out to be.

A really good idea for a gag account I would absolutely never follow through on is doing Robert Christgau Consumer Guide reviews as Sephiroth.

I categorically reject the idea that punk’s rise to prominence in the late seventies was a response to the excesses of prog rock but i also have Tormato by Yes (1978) another spin today and I can understand why people came to that conclusion.

I don’t know why it’s so funny to me that there are only like seven video game franchises on an annual release schedule including sports games and for some reason one of them is Silent Hill.
