I saw a band last night who, on the logic that everyone usually misses at least 1 set at a show to smoke or socialize, insisted we miss their set so we watch everyone else. They refused to start until everyone left the room and closed the door. Whenever someone tried to peek, they stopped playing.

They called everyone back in for the final song of the set. Once everyone returned, the guitarist pretended to lose her pick and insisted she couldn't play the final song without it. So they ended the set there. Very inspired bit. There's still true artists out there.

obvious answer is having a nightmare from watching my older brother and dad play Doom (1993). but for whatever reason, amidst all the horrible ways to die or suffer in Oregon Trail II, this NPC's visage scared the hell out of me. apparently he was just a programming analyst at MECC in a costume, lol

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

A butch lesbian in a hi-vis vest was behind me in the bike lane for most of my commute. She made some small talk when we were stopped. Later an SUV was turning left in front of me without signaling. Instead of ringing her bell she made an anguished yell, and then added "I did that to protect you."

there are only so many names you can learn in your time on Earth. don't waste them on backup QBs. save them for important names, like those of 70s character actors or LA session musicians

like with my recent Metal Gear, SCUMM, and Metroid series playthroughs, I've been going through the Zelda games chronologically and writing up my thoughts on my backloggd. Here's some thoughts on Majora's Mask.

12 hours later someone looking at me would see a cyclist in west philly wearing a reflective vest over a seersucker suit with a silk scarf. you do what you gotta do

i guess if you executed everyone with a lifted truck, it wouldnt solve the problem of, like, Windows resetting your audio settings after an update, or topsoil erosion. but a lot of times i find that if i tackle one easy thing, the solution for the harder problems becomes more clear. so lets just see

There should be a button next to the like button that just says "what?". I think this would be of use to both normal people seeing out-of-pocket posts and to perpetually confused What's Hot scrollers.

I took an arrangement class in college and while turning in an assignment asked the prof if I had made it too dissonant. He replied "Daniel, the 20th century happened." I think that's pretty good advice to keep in mind if you're worried that you're making your art too weird.

I think a lot of manosphere guys are cynically telling insecure misogynists what they want to hear. But Andrew Tate really does seem to believe in and live those values; which is why he's a rapist and human trafficker.

Hey there, I'm a European guy making an interesting-sounding youtube video for an English-speaking audience. I like to have a little fun πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ so I put in annoying jokes that don't land every 5 seconds. Enjoy!

now I'm watching an unseen stuffy-nosed american youtuber who sounds like the box factory manager from Bart Gets Famous and who keeps saying stuff like "this might have been a waste" and "this is probably like watching paint dry." 😌 now this is what it's all about

All the white people on the bus in West Philly (myself included) got off at the same station and then walked in the same direction... to the Death Cab show. It must have looked like our microchips activated.
