📌 Hi bluesky! Who: Eric, a creative Christian (but not THAT kind) who enjoys talking games, sports, humor, faith, family. What: I make games! @tinybookshelf.itch.io Warning: I may indulge in abrupt/extreme tonal shifts (silly/serious), post pretty actively, and share bad jokes. I try to be kind.

Actual exchange between me and my wife today: Me: "Remember that guy who used to go to our church, the weatherman?" Wife: "..." Me: "He married a weatherman?" Wife: "He married a weather girl..." Me: "Right, yeah, exactly."

haven't published a commercial title in six years now (!!) but i'll be back in business with a new release soon enough 🙏

Fun times: Shplief, my mysterious budget puzzle game, is now 187/200 puzzles complete (93.5%!). I know I haven't shown much of it, though! I've been operating on a "build it now, polish/make it pretty later" basis. Looking forward to showing more of my next weird game real soon! 😊

Yes!! Love creative little analog-element gamedev projects like this, thank you. There's a wonderful history of these sorts of artifacts that never see the light of commercial availability but nonetheless foster inspiration.

You ever think about shoes? About how they fit the human foot so perfectly. Uncanny. It's like they were *built* for human feet. Really makes you think.

VIVIAN MAIER was a Nanny for 40yrs who unbeknownst to anyone spent her free time taking over 150,000 photos of whatever interested her. 2yrs before she died her photos were found in a lock up she’d failed to keep up payments on and her decades of incredible work suddenly exploded upon the world.

All right, I've decided: The worst part about being tall is the spiderwebs. You watch everyone else walk under a tree just fine. But you walk under and -- spiderweb, right in your face. Sucks.

We recently got Cat Quest 3 on Switch (we've played prior games in the series). My 9yo son got to try it today. He was excited when I got home from work. 9: "Dad! Cat Quest 3 is amazing!" Me: "Yeah?!" 9: "You start with a gun!!!" 😅

I think Lanterns took some big thematic swings and did some things well. But in the end all I can think is, if it dies from being shot in the head, I don't understand why we're spending so much energy trying to convince the audience it's the most dangerous being in the universe.
