Found out this is something my county struggles with wrt pedestrian and cyclist accidents, relevant county agencies can't get incident data to map out where incidents happen the most and analyze systemic factors.

State law says police aren't required to report accidents to the DoT unless damage/injuries cross a certain threshold.where agencies could access the data. Functionally that means if no one is injured or killed in a pedestrian or cyclist incident the data isn't reported to anyone except insurance.

while i was the sexiest person at the meeting (due to my relative youth and pedestrian/cyclist support) sexiness alone cannot beat the horde of NIMBY retirees. the cause* demands manpower**. *walkable neighborhoods where pedestrians won't get hit by cars **people who don't drive giant SUVs***

I thought my community pedestrian and bike infrastructure was solidly okay until I bought an ebike and started using it instead of a car for short trips. Within a month my opinion drastically changed lol.

I now believe that to obtain a drivers license people must complete a certain number of hours either biking or walking to places in their community (if they are physically able to). Makes you more invested in community infrastructure and a better driver!

Biked 24 miles on Sunday and ran into a major mixed use trail closure that wasn't communicated well by the county. The local volunteer bike organization had set up an unofficial detour map because the country hasn't bothered. Lots of bike lanes that aren't protected and only exist for half a mile.

most UPF clothing is kind of awful to wear when it's hot and humid without a breeze. most people would rather wear something comfortable that has a UPF of 15 than something uncomfortable with a UPF of 50.

everyone should get used to wearing voluminous dresses/tunics/robes as they'll be the most practical item of clothing with global warming (ventilation!)
