Cursed connector that we use at work, any guesses what it is for?

Going to a chemistry cabaret at my old uni tonight. It is the newest of the science cabarets so it is fun to see how the running gags evolve. My favourite gag from the past few years have been about how all chemicals should just go into the handwash.
