Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security. Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

A 28-year-old man was brutally murdered in Florida by ICE thugs who chased him onto the path of an oncoming semi-truck. The driver of the truck stopped his vehicle and immediately attempted to aid the victim while the ICE thugs stood around, hands in vests.

Not me searching "how long can a body be kept alive by artificial means" after hearing the theory that Mitch McConnell is being kept alive until August 3 to force a special election instead of a November vote. A: Typically days to weeks, but as long as 100-110 days depending on brain function.

I have recently started working with a woman in my community with Alzheimer's. I have been blessed to never have dealt with dementia among loved ones, so this experience is new to me. I know I am helping the family, but it's had some blessings for me as well. 🧵

It is showing me the depth of my patience (and to a much lesser extent, my tolerance. I don't know how I came by these gifts, but I've had a tolerance for teaching and taking time to ensure my students' success.

Have about 15% of first central sleeve motif completed. Each cross stitch is 4 threads x 4 threads. Threadcount is 42/inch. This requires patience, a magnifying LED light, AND reader glasses. Maybe this will be complete for next Šokiu Šventė in Lietuva in 2 years. #lietuva #tautinarubai

No. We already require ID when we register to vote. Getting a driver's license or state ID has become more difficult in recent years. That is sufficient. How about we ensure ALL Americans have an equal voice and equal representation? Let's get big money out of politics, ensure truth in news, etc?

We can do Voter ID Right after we do Epstein List ID.

I KNOW it’s hard to accept that democracy is gone. But the longer you count on elections, the longer everyone will suffer. We CANNOT vote our way out of authoritarianism. It’s simply FACT. We must ORGANIZE OUTSIDE OF ELECTIONS to even SURVIVE this, let alone CHANGE it.

Had insomnia last night so got up, cut some yarn, threaded some cards, and tried out a possible trim for our men's vests for #SokiuSvente. Probably too wide and maybe not the right color. I used what I had that*might* make enough yardage for 8 vests. #juosta #weaving #cardweaving #tauts #rubai

The river told me it's time. Saturday was a beautiful day. Despite a crazy week and a foreboding hard deadline the next morning, I hadn't seen "my trees" in a week or more. So, passing by the park after running out to get supplies, I stopped. 🧵

This has become a Spring Ritual for me on the first warm day to dip my toes in the river. I rarely plan for it though and often end up waiting for the mud to dry on my feet or walking down stick-y paths with my shoes in hand.

The river called to me. I didn't have time. There were things I MUST do. But it kept beckoning as I walked along the bank. So I found a not-so-steep and not-so-muddy entrance and ventured my way toward it. Removing my shoes, I stepped onto the slick mud that had recently shed its water.

I hoped to avoid a calamitous fall, but found myself sliding and struggling for balance on one foot. I recalled the previous Spring when I DID land on my keister. I finally was able to find tentatively sure footing at waters edge and thanked the earth and the river and the trees for Spring.

I am frankly more concerned about the apathy of the American public and even more importantly the lack of leadership in the Democratic Party. This is not a dress rehearsal. Every single American must speak out against this Facist administration.

The final colorway. I've woven 1 meter out of about 3. I'm also including pics of how I've warped up my Inkle Loom. The absolute Game Changer is chaining each card separately rather than chaining it as one group! #SkyWeave #Weaving
