Ill-defined Republican forever wars in the Middle East, in many cases broadly supported by Democrats, have had a huge human cost, including the displacement of roughly 38 million people. This exceeds those displaced by every war since 1900—except World War II. Rarely reported in US corporate media.

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.
