The God of Bad Art gets offerings from all over the world, but in Their temple, They sometimes appear. "Why bad art?" I ask. "It is brave", the God replies. "To try and fail?" "No," the God chuckles. "Any creative work is a defiance of entropy, of Death itself. If you create, you do not fail."

I liked the idea of having a character with the obscure historical equivalent of "John." Once super common, now no one uses it. Gaius has been inserted into various games with open CC across the years, including Wildstar where he picked up his country drawl.

IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when I'm playing FFXIV for the first time and the big bad of ARR SHARES THIS OBSCURE NAME. At least I know everyone who plays this game knows how to pronounce my character's name. XD

do people have recommendations on where to get custom 10/20cm plush dolls made (like wol dolls) i'm not looking myself, but people have come to me a lot asking about mine, which were group ordered from a manufacturer in asia so i don't really have good ways to recommend it to others 🥹

"Gaius Caster, pleased t' meet ya!" Why an Imperial name? As a cub, he was held in a prisoner camp. His adoptive parents, a pair of lalafell freedom fighters, helped rescue him. Named him after the Garlean traitor that helped them escape. Retired to a farm in La Noscea under the Caster family name.

#WoLQotD What is your WoL's government name? The one they cash checks out under. The one on their taxes and documents.

- They raised Gaius as their own, which was a challenge when this rambunctious cub grew taller than them. Gaius never had a hard time with his name until he started adventuring, in the wake of the Empire's attack. He'd avoid bringing it up, referring to the Legatus as Van Baelsar or Black Wolf.

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

We're about half way through Dawntrail atm with Ari and Jak but I forgot to share the new look he gained between post-EW and DT. He spent 2 months with the Four Lords training due to the Auspice blood and power, his mother had forced into him, learning to harness it via Dynamis. #FFXIV #Art #WOL

Really wished more people shared this with their friends, esp bookish friends who don’t use Bluesky. Stop looking for rando artists on Threads then screaming you got scammed. We already vetted a bunch of real artists for you to choose from.

From when we took our sprouts through The Vault ;D I made some art to inflict emotional damage on @hybridkane.bsky.social's Jak. 💜 (He's got a condition that involves aether crystals growing on him, exacerbated by intense emotions. Shh they didn't know about Shadowbringers yet 🤫) #EviArt #FFXIVart

Endwalker Spoilers The sprouts got to run across a strangely-familiar face in Elpis. Apollo, working under the Words of Loghrif, specializes in the care of terrestrial creations. He's assisted by his familiar Lycania, his faithful companion. #EviArt #FFXIVart #EndwalkerSpoilers #Gaius

Just like in ARR when we planned where our characters would be lost during the Banquet, and post-SB where we plotted when they'd collapse alongside Scions, in Ultima Thule each of the mentor characters had a moment along the road to say goodbye to the sprouts before disappearing. ;D
