Earthbound mod comes full circle about having no translation into other languages for decade(s) thats pretty funny - in like 10 years we're going to get a massively popular spanish indie game inspired by undertale that refuses to translate to any other language so the cycle can continue

A message for my fans in Latin America. (plain text is in the image alt-text if you need it for translation.)

Roughly 70 employees will be impacted by the Bluepoint closure. Bluepoint was working on a God of War live-service game until it was canceled early last year. The studio then spent the last year pitching and trying to determine what it would do next. Full story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Nothing kills my soul more than knowing my favourite IP is owned by paradox interactive. I think of all the promise and potential that lies in it, and then remembering paradox owns the ip now makes a pit form in my stomach, and I try not to cry. #vampirethemasquerade #vtm

"Make it functional, then make it pretty" makes sense sure but sometimes you need to make it pretty to find motivation 😭 #devlog

My game got ripped off Itch and posted to an aggregator site. This is huge because it means I'm not just throwing my work into the void, I'm throwing my work into the void and some guys seen it and said "Aye that's class" and posted it somewhere else #indiedev #gamedev #itch.io

The new Godot changes fixed a good chunk of the stuff that stopped me from switching over when Unity started acting out a while ago. I guess all that’s left is to pay the opportunity cost of learning a new engine

“Huh idk how to implement this, I’ll go check a tutorial” “Hmm this tutorial isn’t really what I need but I’ll check it out and change it anyway” “Ive been debugging for 6 hours and I stopped watching the video 5 mins in” “I scrapped it and just wrote completely new code” My game dev cycle

If the player is defeated in battle the result screen hints at enemy weakness and suggests a suitable amount of attribute points that should be invested into defence. -- #indiegamedev #JRPG

What got you into #gamedev? The Little Big Planet level maker had so many options, it felt like the game was just made to give players ideas for how to use the tools given That and being shown scratch when I was 10 which made me realise I was actually able to do the stuff outside of LBP

What got you into #gamedev? The game I wanted to play simply did not exist. I made it my job to MAKE that game exist. I started out in Unity, but then switched after using the free trial on RPGMaker MZ, and fast foward 4 years and here we are. I just like making stuff lol

I’ve got my game dev labels👍 In other news, started a new project, making a grid in Unity 3D since the built in one sucks. #gamedev #unity3D

Lmao i spend like 1 hour trying to figure out why the outputs for y and z are flipped and then i ask someone else and it takes them 4 minutes. skill issue tbh #gamedev

The ENTIRE Quixel Megascans library up until the end of 2024 is free forever from now until then. This is down to it being rebranded and restructured as "Fab". I cannot emphasise enough what a massive and high quality library this is even for 2D work. Go get. www.fab.com/megascans-free

fab.comGet all Quixel Megascans for free on Fab.comAll Megascans are free for everyone under Fab’s Standard License until the end of 2024, for all engines and tools.

Over at the other place all I see is "this game sucks" "the industry is cooked" "Woke! DEI!" *complaints about game fidelity* Here meanwhile: "I love this game" "Check out my gaming collection" "Here's a list of games I love" *Overwhelming positive discussion* The contrast is staggering.

You are up to date.
