A potential client put out a request for proposals to win work from them. The RFP is so obviously AI generated that its asking for esoteric things that can’t be technically demonstrated. All my managers are putting the language into chatbots and reading the output to explain the ask. We are cooked.

Yes, it would. The LLM is using its training data, which includes other people’s stolen work to produce the output. Without that training the LLM couldn’t paraphrase the existing manuscript to generate the summary. All AI summaries are absolutely unethical, and aren’t really that good.

Management gets a lot wrong with AI, but I think one thing they don’t understand is that when they ask ChatGPT to plan out a project that reciting that plan to upper management may work, but when they do the same to experts who implement the plan, they are doing irreparable reputational self harm.
