There is a version of Boston that only exists in my dreams, like Boston DLC. It adds neighborhoods that would overlap or extend real places. I had such a vivid dream about an apartment that can't exist, I woke up and tried to find it on a map.

Ice cream truck stopped in the parking lot of my paternal grandmother's apartment one day. I was hanging around, checking the menu and meandering. The driver flipped a switch which stopped the music and flatly said "god I hate this fuckin' music". I could not stop laughing. I was maybe 7 years old

@murderxbryan.bsky.social can attest, sometimes ya just have to ride in the trunk

According to CNN, Natalie Harp once jumped into the trunk of an SUV after getting into a screaming match with other Trump staffers after being denied a seat in the motorcade heading to a Trump trial appearance. www.cnn.com/2026/08/18/p...

Rewatching "Yi Yi" for the first time in about 20 years. One of my most memorable trips to the cinema. I was 17 or 18 and felt lucky to have friends who were thoughtful and media literate, to go watch foreign movies with.

It's kind of interesting how we have different experiences, lives, and philosophies, and yet there's one thing we can all agree on: Prisons should number in the tens of thousands, be owned by private citizens with no oversight and explicit permission and encouragement to brutalize people for profit.

Had a vivid dream that took place in the world of Elden Ring. I'd somehow crossed Ranni and she sent this disgusting guy to kill me. He was dressed in rags and super bloated and puffy. His weapon was kind of an oversized blunted scalpel.

I got away but he caught me sleeping and laid on top of me, pressing his scalpel thing into my belly and talking about what he was going to do to me. I somehow escaped and the rest is hazy but I was pursued by several different beings. I woke up a few times but the dream resumed each time I slept.

It's good for life on earth for oil to be unaffordable. We've had plenty of opportunity to end our fossil fuel dependence and we just didn't do that. The "find out" phase can't come too soon.

Is this good?

I fucking hate Rock Hill, South Carolina. It's an evil place filled with asshole morons milling about in the parking lots of half-empty strip malls. Going to their fucked up ugly churches. A cursed and haunted place not fit for life. Come, friendly bombs, etc etc

i didnt know the stoke market (sp?) was over $50,000. i guess in that case it is kind of silly to be thinking about whether or not the people in charge of the country belong to a murderous cabal of pedophiles and rapists. either way they're doing a pretty good job with the ecomoney. 👍

I rarely have to deal with JavaScript and that allows me to be shocked over and over that is has no real date type, only datetime, and its datetime is named Date. `new Date('2025-08-14')` is in the past! That's today, but JS says it's a single second!

Update, my neighbors are lovely and fun, I have tons of tomatoes growing in the garden. I feel like a human being again.

I am lonely. Isolated and alienated. Packing my stuff to move. Weighed down by memories. Thinking about who would want any of this stuff when I'm gone. Simultaneously meaningful and meaningless.

I once went into a newly-opened record shop and the owner was mid-conversation with a customer. The customer was saying "you're full of shit, there's no way you're friends with The Beatles" and he left. The man turned to me and opened a photo book. There was a photo of him with John and Yoko.

I later read that the man had become homeless and died. I can't find any information about him at all now, but there was a newspaper article about his life, the record shop, and his Beatles connection. The record shop was in five points, Columbia, SC.

My take is that we should eliminate all automobiles from all public spaces and turn all of the roads into parks, gardens, and squares.

my opinion on congestion pricing is that it should cost 10,000 dollars to honk your car horn

It's my grandmother's birthday and I miss her. She taught me how to taste. When I was very young, I told her I didn't like green beans. What she knew and I didn't was I'd never had anything except green beans from a can. She had beautiful green beans ready to pick growing in her garden.

She also grew flowers and she had these insect traps, basically artificial pitcher plants. Hanging plastic bags with bait inside and a lip to stop bugs from climbing out. They always had these iridescent beetles inside.

I would carefully pick the thorns from her roses and try to place the thorn neatly on a finger. Like figure out where it would attach if my fingers were rose stems.

She showed me the plants and how they grew. We picked the beans. She cooked them in just butter, salt, and pepper. Absolute core food memory. Like parts of my brain came online for the first time.

You are up to date.
