Straight to Terminal B - no parking, no tolls, no traffic. We need so much more of this in the US. Electric would be nicer, & 10 yrs was too long to build. Today my city is floating the idea of pulling completely out of the network and closing the new stations opened this week. So incredibly dumb.

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

I've heard many espouse the idea that there are no morals without religion, which is easily disproven. What is not being acknowledged is the growing trend of simply substituting morality with blind religion, which has historically resulted in tragedies of epic scale.

Say what you will about the cringe factor of Google's announcement event, but I'd much rather prefer that experience to Apple's ultra sterilized, AI-sounding human robotic presentation machines existing in barren landscapes and buildings.

My entire life the pattern has been 1. Republican president ruins economy. 2. We elect Dems to fix it. 3. Republicans obstruct pace of progress and people get frustrated with Dems. 4. We elect a Republican president 5. Go back to step 1.

Build here, but also if you do we'll raid your factories. Conveniently, it's also an EV producer (one of the best right now), so maybe ICE is doing double duty standing for internal combustion engines too. What a(nother) disgrace. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Reagan was malleable - he let conservatives and rich friends tell him what to do because he had celebrity status and no real experience. The bad advice initially created a recession, and then the economy transformed into a gigantic debt machine. Now we get the same, supercharged by ego and weakness.

If there's anything good to come out of AI in education, it would be the forced requirement to actually work with students in the classroom again instead of just talking for a while and assigning homework every day.

Incompetence rarely advertises itself so plainly.

Q: "Do you believe you can convince [Putin] to stop targeting civilians in Ukraine?" Trump: "Well, I'll tell you what, I had that conversation with him. Then I go home and I see that a rocket hit a nursing home or a rocket hit an apartment building...So I guess the answer to that is no."

Imagine a future where you can be as unhinged as on Twitter, but with a local flair. Everyone can rant and spout conspiracy theories about the construction down the street together or weirdos that walk or ride bikes instead of using cars (suspicious). Welcome to the future: welcome to NextDoor.

“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.” Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability & quality of life. Common sense. Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.

Used AI as a double-check to see if I missed anything about a certain topic in a 60pg PDF. Surprisingly, it found a few details I didn't see. I asked where to find it, and got the wrong page. In fact, the excerpts didn't exist - it completely hallucinated. This is the part of AI that truly sucks.

Lawyers getting busted for fake AI-generated citations shows what’s coming. Experts aren’t verifying AI output, and as non-experts adopt these tools, it’ll only get worse. We’ll need new safeguards. The expert being fired won’t be enough when your doctor or lawyer depends on an AI hallucination.

It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

2 mil more people voted for Harris in TX than in Michigan. It's a big place, and not at all uniform in votes. If anything, the state is simply a microcosm of the nation and how the system is set up.

Cuts to FAA and immediately planes start to collide. Cuts to NOAA and massive flooding without warning. Cuts to FEMA and slower recovery from disasters. These effects aren't even taking time to happen.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy. I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.
