This is so short sighted that it's almost blind. The best thing this country could do for national security is to wean ourselves off foreign oil and gas. Even economically. Look at the way heating oil and motor fuel has skyrocketed this year alone. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

New bus lane times start Monday 12 October - Milton Road East to London Road - 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. A trial to improve bus journey times and reliability. You can still park and load in most locations but some times will change.

Lionel Reid, 19, ploughed his BMW into a cyclist while under the influence of alcohol and then left the scene. Cannabis was also found in his system. The 50-year-old cyclist sustained serious head injuries. I am sure we all feel reassured that Reid’s punishment is an 18-week suspended sentence.

Making it safer and easier for people to travel by bike helps to address transport poverty. Cycle lanes, like this one in Glasgow, connecting communities to the city centre, reflect the everyday journeys that people make, helping them to get from home to work, school, shops and vital services.

Glasgow nominations for the Holyrood election are out. The far-right Independent Green Voice is back. In 2021, this fake party, led by a Holocaust denier thrown out of UKIP, probably cost the Scottish Greens two MSPs.

Reform told you reducing council tax was easy. They just had to slash Woke policies, and a billion or two would be saved. They wouldn't even need to close care services. They promise you that. And then every single Reform-led council cut care services and increased council tax.

Reform UK won’t say ‘private’ when talking about healthcare. Richard Tice uses ‘independent’: "Instead of giving £26bn to the already bloated wasteful NHS, we proposed easing pressure on the health service by incentivising those who can afford to pay more to go independent with a tax break."

Hmm... If instead the main road was set back (chicane) then that would achieve the same benefits AND reduce speed on the main road at the intersection. I realise the cost of doing this would be higher, but I don't agree it is always the cyclists that have to zig zag around to make it easy for cars.

Some misinterpret this design as prioritizing cars while inconveniencing the bike. Incorrect. The setback allows one car to advance, waiting to enter the street, while keeping the bike path clear. A second car can wait behind the bike path, advancing only after the first car exits the waiting area.

Musk talking about fighting falsehoods on his platform. One hour before he'd amplified a falsehood to millions of people. Nobody died in that incident, caused by a drunk driver. No community note, no correction.
