I don’t participate in #weretober2026 but I saw that today’s animal is lemurs, so here’s a guy I drew eight years ago. #ErkhyanArt #FurryArt

Next up in my occasional series: "Can it swim?" BATS!🦇🏊 As video captured by Rob Mackereth (@mack2526 on IG) in the Lake District, England shows, bats can indeed swim. In fact, they're pretty good little swimmers. But there's an asterisk. Also, standard disclaimer: do not handle downed bats!

I don't have anyone else to tell, but one of my skunk/opossum videos on FB that I posted yesterday has EIGHT MILLION VIEWS in just one day! It tickles me that so many people are interested in these often-overlooked animals. 🦨 🦊 Here's that video (I think I've shared it here before).

This is like saying a photographer only presses a button and doesn't have to study composition, contrast, location, color theory, even storytelling when performing their craft A camera isn't a machine that just spits out things if you tell it to. It's a tool for a specific purpose

ecutruin.bsky.social@ecutruin.bsky.social

This is like saying that a photographer is not an artist just because the camera renders photos on their behalf. While there are painters who took this position when the camera was introduced, it's generally seen as being irrational today.

Book 1 genuinely altered how I feel about myself in a positive direction. So much so, I will continue to sing its praises. Hell, I was the fifth person to back the physical mask and it sits pride of place on my shelf. I take it to cons to help boost the story's profile. It's worth it, 120%.

Wolf of Withervale is three years old today! And Book 5 is nearly here, less than a month to go!

There are a few contenders and idk the exact timeline of what came first. But one option is "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction," where they had a story with a lady who was seeing herself all fucked-up in the mirror as a foretelling of a robbery or some shit. Anyway, mirrors were a no-go after that.

Oh it's National Coffee Day? I've been in the coffee(repair) game since 2006 and tbh I like ppl associate coffee with me. Seen coffee being out the best and more often the worst in the public lol. Time for an Americano in my favorite butts mug! 🍑 ☕

There are a lot of people in our community that are sad right now, and these are completely valid and valuable feelings. Take joy in the memories we have had together and strive to have more memories with those friends we will make in the future. If you need anything, your friends are here. ❤️

Alt: A painted dog dressed in fine clothes, his back to the audience, looking out through the windows into a heavy rain at night. Very difficult to see, but appears to be a shore line with lights and the light from a lighthouse.

Setting Sail (2018) Bit of an older one for you today, and what started my love affair with more out-there aspect ratios. One of the most annoying things about the VN is, that i've only painted 16:9 for the past few years, and it's just such a goddamn boring ratio.

I feel so bad for rats. Just because they acted as transport for the vectors that caused one of the deadliest disease outbreaks in recorded human history ONE TIME (a couple of times actually, just less virulent), they are feared by so many people but they're actually so adorable ;_; 💜🐀

I am in an odd state. I took a nap just before 1 pm and just woke up a few minutes ago. Now my mind feels very disorganized and lacking energy and focus. It would be best if I just kept sleeping until morning, but I am unable to get back to sleep because I have slept so much.

Standing in the bowl of the new moon with honey dripping from my fingers, telling the me who I was— busily becoming the me who I am— that it's okay, that we made it, that there's work to do yet, but for now we can lick the honey from our fingers and dance in the bowl of the new moon שנה טובה ומתוקה

One of the days at EF was windy enough that my neck started to strain because of those two fecking sails catching the wind. At least it looks cool in motion. Worth it. #FursuitFriday 🎥 by Anafox 🧵 by @smallyu.bsky.social

I'm currently rewatching X-Files (and posting about each episode near-daily, shameless self promotion) and the 20+ episode TV season drove such amazing creative innovations you'll never see in another model. They invented a vast years-long story arc almost by accident, Season 1 was pure standalones!

More importantly still, part of what makes TV a distinctive art form, and not just a longer running form of cinema or a more portable version of theatre, are the expediencies that come from having to get it out in time.

Armadillo in Ohio. Only one of these images shows the correct armadillo species. Top one shows an armadillo not found in the US and third one shows a pangolin--not closely related to armadillos at all. Fourth one shows the right species.
