It’s really simple. The organ-i-zation is completely insular and not interested in outside voices or opinions. Therefore, they’re stuck in an endless cycle of terrible ideas - thanks to a con man general manager who can’t get fired. It’s the same as when Danny’s grandpappy was in charge.

I have a confession: I’m not sure how to analyze the Blackhawks right now. Oh, they've been bad so far. I can tell you that. But who's to blame? How indicative is it? And what's going to happen next? Those questions send me into logic loops. New column:

The Hawks had six days to prepare for a game after they were outclassed by a divisional opponent and followed it up by…getting outclassed, outshot & out scored. They’re going to fire Blashill to “fix” it. A fun exercise would be to read Kyle’s quotes from just last summer when Jeff was hired.

I went to two tapings of the Mike Ditka Show as a yout (because my father is a giant meatball) and trying to describe the experience to someone in the present day seems like something out of science-fiction. “No, it was a full tv studio” “Yes, all the people whooped like it was the Arensio show”

the major league baseball playoffs take what everyone loves about the sport (relief pitching) and makes it the entire focus of every game. that's a marketing goldmine. great job.

You know the Hawks are in dire shape when people rave about their fourth line and defend the players on it as though they matter in the least. Like when Barry Rozner lit himself on fire in 2006 because the Hawks traded away Karl Stewart.

Danny has the marketing team working overtime tonight to cook up some solid social media content that will try to distract the members from getting mooned in Utah. Chelsea Dagger karaoke with Frank Nazar and Oliver Moore? Kane highlights from 2016? Spencer Knight staring into your soul?

Laughing hysterically as I imagine all the stakeholders who had to approve this message high-fiving each other as they left Kevin Warrens name off this statement.

Brenden Moore: New: Gov. Pritzker met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Pat Ryan, Speaker Welch and the top legislative negotiators on the Bears stadium issue today, per the governor’s office.

How are we the most influential bears podcast around? Within 24 hours of recording our episode, Kyler Gordon decided record himself working out in his backyard AND Zavion Thomas changed his number.

What changed in 4 years that Kyle - who declared the Hawks would be starting a new era and didn’t want the shadows of Kane and Toews to disrupt this rebuild - decided he needed to bring back an older, less effective Kane on a team with a younger roster and also no closer to finishing above 31st?

This tells you all you need to know about Danny, Kyle, Jeff and the entire Hawks organ-I-zation and why they are losers. Imagine if the Bears allowed a former player to maintain a locker at Halas Hall with his teams jersey hanging from the stall. Ben would develop explosive diarrhea on the spot.

Taking a bit of a break, as after NHL playoffs and World Cup I'm burned out. But as I do every so often, just want to throw the net out. Looking for work, so if you know of any kind of opening, please send along!

So if the cap is going up by 8% every season for the foreseeable future, does that make the Nazar extension through eternity look even dumber than before? Also, why should anyone worry about cap hits ever again? With that type of cap growth, the 2010 hawks maybe lose one player in the offseason.

NEW: Inside Connor Bedard's negotiation with the Blackhawks, how the Leo Carlsson offer sheet affected things, and why Bedard backed off an earlier stance to go even shorter-term: www.nytimes.com/athletic/745...

Uh oh, sounds like the walk-in music for Jim Hendry’s barrel!

Davidson said the Blackhawks will likely have to put their money where their mouth is in Byram's contract negotiations. He said he has no problem paying for a great player on a long-term deal.

Gang!

Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing!@sleepykittypaw.bsky.social

Well, I spoke too soon, looks like HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN is getting a third run on Hallmark after all Pre-production is reportedly up and running on HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A BEARS LOVE STORY in Chicago, with filming set to start in about a week, and an official announcement expected as soon as tomorrow.

Tonight was the night Kyle Davidson became general manager

Having the No. 4 overall pick and NOT finally getting Connor Bedard a legitimate winger — either through the draft or through a trade — would be a colossal failure. Just colossal.

Horror movie corner - Hokum is a perfectly fine movie but it’s got a lot of vibes and juice, for whatever reason. Definitely enjoyable but not sure I understand the online fanfare. Then again, it could all be Astro-turfed. Anyways, I enjoyed it and so will you if you like that sort of thing.

Tampa also might have a better version of Oliver Moore in Dominic James - who the Hawks couldnt sign because he wasn’t interested in apprenticing in Rockford for 200 games

It is a perfectly reasonable opinion to have been in favor of this trade 4 years ago given the outlook of that season and that Kyle's draft record was an unknown. But the two firsts have become Oliver Moore and Fuckface Boisvert and you're now allowed to be pissed off.
