After defeating the Foot Clan and the Technodrome, my brothers and I parted ways. Eventually I woke up in Kreuzberg and found meaning in music.

Do you love the #90s? When everything smelled like cigarettes and your dad was always on business trips? Well I did too! So I tried to recreate #Windows95 in #react and see how far I could get. It's part time capsule and part personal fun project. Anyway, click here firebel.ly
This week's project was installing 512 megs ram and a 120gig ssd in my clamshell G3 laptop. Thought I had bricked it at one point. But now it's full working silent with wifi too. And plenty of space. Also replaced the keyboard which was by far the most expensive part. The drive and ram were like 15$

One thing about recovering from #mecfs is that you always feel better than you actually are so you push too much. and then it takes one little thing to push you over the edge and back in bed. Like doing too much laundry.
I'm 95% done with implementation for 8omp! Let's do a #screenshotsaturday with this little tech demo reel showing the main mechanics that'll be included.
Getting the perfect loops for these gifs is one of my favorite things to do... just don't ask me how many tries this one took 😅

Water tiles dusted. 👊 (+ many other revisions not pictured)
Here's a peak at some of the new river & coast tiles.
Had big momentum loss with an apartment-move followed by other happenings, and took some mega willpower to resume these water tiles which had been a big pain. Moving on!
I don't understand why this is controversial, I refuse to vote for transphobes and/or genocide apologists. Doesn't matter how important the race is. The bar is so fucking low, if you can't get above it, you deserve nothing.
kind of fun seeing hacking more out in the open. feel like the last time it was like this was in the 90s. wild west time! remember when a friend of mine on irc did some shit on a turkish web server, went out for smokes and the feds grabbed him and he didn't touch the internet for 5 years.
Third time put me I bed (24/7) for 8 months this year. Needed fulltime care for 5 months. Healed enough to walk around the house for 15 minutes a day, anything else and I'm back in bed for 24-48 hours to recover. Every infection is roulette to ruin your life.
"How Bad Is Another Case of Covid?"
"Doctors said that the possible harms of repeated infections are significant enough that people should take precautions, like getting vaccinated and masking when traveling or in crowded areas."

Since i've been bed ridden for 8 months, I've been avoiding my home office. I've recovered enough that I can sit up for a few hours a day, but I can't go in there because I have a bunch of plant lights. and MECFS/Long Covid has made light and sound a sensory nightmare for me. Migraine city
Can anyone with #MECFS or #longcovid help me understand this symptom. For my entire life i've never needed to nap, but by 1PM now, every day, my body starts to "buzz" and i need to sleep for an hour. Is this just like nervous system PEM? or something?

I'd love to rent a small studio in SF, when I got priced out so many years ago, it made me sad and I still think about coming back. Even if it's just like a small shitty illegal shack.
Harvard researchers studied 106 people and found that Long COVID is linked to disrupted fat metabolism, increased inflammatory enzyme activity, and reduced molecules that help resolve inflammation.

One thing that always strikes me about silicon valley types, especially after watching the Nathan Fielder doc, is how they think they are inventing the wheel for the first time, when there are clearly dozens of companies that had the same idea years before them.
When I think about miniaturizing health tech, like that's not new, and major companies have entire rd departments working on it. Why do tech people think they are inventing something new.
It's some form of narcissism or naivety or something that gives them a god complex, like this will change the world. My dude, Siemens came up with that idea 10 years before you graduated HS. I feel like this pattern is repeated a lot.
Monstober 2026 Day 13 - The Rubug family! This rubbery larva scours the roads chewing up asphalt and random nuts & bolts. As it grows, depending on the balance of it's diet, it's body either evolves to match the speed of oncoming traffic, or solidifies into a roadblock.

Also, one thing I wish could be better explained is insomnia. I always thought it was just not getting sleepy. But for me it's nightmares every night, body twitching refusing to relax and waking every hour along with inability to fall into sleep. Waking fully awake. No space between awake and rem.
I've had this for 8 months now, it's worse when I'm in a crash for PEM but even at baseline it's there, albeit reduced. I dread going to sleep now because I have to prep for whatever nightmare will come.
