They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.

Tourism to El Salvador is mostly Salvadorians visiting family, but many are postponing trips due Trump's policy and return-access fears. Sadly, Salvadorian-American or living in US cult-like support for Bukele persists. He will lose on remittance and tourism. #BoycottElSalvador

Interesting Math: American tourism is 39% of all tourism in El Salvador as of 2024. The numbers are 3.2 million visitors adding up to $4.3 billion. Prison business is bringing in $6M. US travel $ can go elsewhere. Your move El Salvador

The week was dominated by news about the Maryland man illegally deported to El Salvador. But there was also concern over tariffs and Robert F. Kennedy's work as Health and Human Services secretary.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) met Thursday with Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador, a man deported by the Trump administration despite a court order blocking his removal.

So paid goons are getting paid federal dollars instead of feeding kids at school?

You saw the video of the ICE agent breaking a car window near the border, right? He wasn’t an ICE agent. He’s the founder of Veterans on Patrol, a FAR-RIGHT MILITIA patrolling the border for migrants. They’re basically deputizing militias to act as federal agents. This is dangerously out of control

The way they are exploiting this woman’s suffering to try to justify sending a random guy to an El Salvadoran gulag is truly sick

Thank you, Sen. Van Hollen, for standing up not just for Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his family but for every American who believes in due process. We can't stop speaking out until he is home and this administration is forced to stop its horrific practice of kidnapping people without charge or trial.

Generating $3.7 billion in tourism revenue. And they are only making $6M for prisoners per year. Doesn’t seem like a good trade. Americans- you know what to do and where not to spend your travel dollars.

In 2024, Americans made up a significant portion of foreign visitors to El Salvador, accounting for approximately 39% of the total number of foreign tourists, which was around 3.2 million. This indicates that El Salvador is a popular destination for U.S. travelers.

Trump’s sputtering response to Harvard standing up to him is yet another reason why institutions should refuse to bend the knee. He’s a paper tiger, unable to argue his own case.

Is that what happens to people in an emotionally abusive relationship for the first time? Especially if they have lived a mostly traumatize-free life or entitled life. They experience real fear for the first time and they feel paralyzed. Sure sounds like the republic public officials.

It has been 18 days since we learned that those involved in Signalgate recklessly endangered the lives of American pilots. The fact that there has been no Congressional investigation is an abomination. This should outrage every single Member of Congress.

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident. We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

What they don’t realize is they are expendable to this administration anyway. No elections needed once they covert it to an oligarchy. They should be brave together or resign now.

Thought experiment: Japan attacks Pearl Harbour Dec 1941. If Japan offered a cease fire with no guarantees of no further attacks, but demanded US oil , precious metals/ minerals, how would the US react? Oh yeah, they dropped two nuclear bombs. But Ukraine should be thankful. Seems reasonable.

You are up to date.
