Produce federal legislation that only unimpeached Presidents can lie in state in the rotunda. Not a bill of attainder. Might ruffle the feathers of someone. Doesn't even have to pass. Just propose it. FWIW: I can live without Bill Clinton lying in state.

Escorting the nine-year-old to a friend’s birthday pool party, I told him I wasn’t going to swim in part because I’m dressed for work. He told me I could just jump in like Mamdani did. This is what socialism does to our children.

I see this the same way. Trump destroys everything he touches. And this is just the latest Trump/FIFA corruption in the WC which includes the childish treatment of the Iranian team.

The World Cup games have managed to steer fairly clear of Trump’s particularly corrupt funk, but his intervention in Balogun's red card reversal has tainted the entire tournament in a way only he could. It was a shitty call and I’d LOVE for the US to win. But this ain’t the way.

In the alternate universe where Trump keeps his mouth shut, Balogun is kept out of the match and following the results (whatever they are) everyone bitches about bad calls, bad coaching, weird plays, and luck. And the tournament continues. Now there is a green, algae like patina over every match.

You knew Trump would still find a way to ruin the World Cup I'm a beyond-diehard USA fan who thinks Balogun's red card was wrongly given, but this taints everything. I'd rather lose by the rules (which includes bad officiating) than win with rank corruption

🚨 Exclusive: The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun’s red card. FIFA approached for comment and referred to the findings of its independent committee.

As huge and unpopular a call as it would be, the USA should leave Folarin Balogun on the bench for the entire Belgium game to avoid being tainted by any sort of association with Trump and Fifa's chicanery and machiavellianism.
