The ridiculousness of white people in Canada complaining about immigrants makes me think there should be mandatory vaccination against ignorance

Andrรฉ Picard @picardonhealth @picardonhealth.bsky.social

Blame government neglect for hospital wait times โ€” not immigrants. Both Edmonton and Calgary need at least 1,000 new acute care beds. edmontonjournal.com/opinion/colu... via @edmontonjournal.com

Sorrow will have its seasons and its reasons, but let us leave a window open for joy. Some days, simply carrying on asks more of us than anyone can see. Keep going gently. The effort matters because the life you are tending is your own.

More plugin solar legislative activity south of the border. Here in Canada... silence. We need affordable plug-in solar legislation, across the country, now. Check out www.pluginsolarpower.ca to learn more about our advocacy. And join the fight!

pv-tech.orgSocket Full of Sunshine Act calls for first federal-level support for US plug-in solarNew Jersey representative Rob Menendez has introduced the Socket Full of Sunshine Act, the first federal-level bill to support plug-in solar.

Renewables and batteries mean energy stability, energy security, energy independence, energy abundance. Cleaner air, lower costs, more jobs.

Oh Doug Ford - I guess that big mistake of cancelling all those wind and solar projects is coming home to roost now. And funny to think that most of the gas used to power the dirty gas power plants in Ontario is imported from the USA. In fact 75% . Elbows up! #onpoli www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

This is really important. As manufacturers give drivers choice, it becomes possible for them to drive electric. the adoption up to this date has relied on a rather poor selection of EVs. This is gaining momentum as better EVs are offered :-) (phew!)

Car Industry Analysis: "Ten years ago, the new cars available in Europe were powered mainly by petrol or diesel engines. Today, there are more PHEV models available than diesel ones. By the end of next year, the total number of electric models should outpace the total number of gasoline models."

The next hospital to open in BC is in the Cowichan valley and will be British Columbiaโ€™s first electric hospital. No gas just clean electricity. Hereโ€™s a view of the rooftop covered in solar panels clearly itโ€™s going to connect to the grid. might as well use it free electricity from the sun

I often see people argue that clean energy is not reducing emissions, because it just adds to rather than replaces fossil fuels. This argument is deeply misguided โ€“ย clean energy built since 2005 has displaced 23 billion tons. I dive in over at The Climate Brink:

theclimatebrink.comWhat if the world hadn't built wind and solar?Clean energy does not simply โ€œadd toโ€ global energy use; it displaces fossil sources that would otherwise get built.

I often see people claim that because clean energy sources like solar, wind, or nuclear are manufactured using fossil fuels their emissions are high. But thats absolutely not the case: even accounting for full lifecycle emissions they are vastly better than burning coal or gas:

Could we please stop framing climate action as a left/right issue. Itโ€™s just a big issue that all politicians need to grapple with. Both a massive cost/risk & huge economic opportunity with clean energy transition (with big risk of stranded fossil fuel assets).

In many ways Mark Carney is proving to be an excellent Prime Minister for Canada at a critical time in our nationโ€™s history. But he also might be the smartest man in the world to act really stupidly about #ClimateChange at a critical time in world history.

I'm encouraged to see that 43% of global energy is clean energy. We're making progress. Each of us needs to make choices and advocate for the clean prosperous future we desire for ourselves and our children. ember-energy.org/focus-areas/...

ember-energy.orgClean Electricity | EmberRapid growth of clean electricity led by cheap solar and wind is replacing fossil fuels in the power sector, and beyond through electrification.

We mustnโ€™t forget the people are good and worthy of love governments can do terrible terrible things while the people in those nations suffer or have no control. This is why itโ€™s so important that governments follow the will of their people Russia ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ / USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ / Iran ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท etc.

Three quarters of the world's population lives in countries that import fossil fuels, leaving them exposed to price and supply shocks. Our analysis last year showed how #electrotech is reducing this vulnerability. Find out what's next on 16 September. ember-energy.org/lat...
