to hear Trump tell it, American elections were completely corrupted while he was president and he was helpless to stop it, then they were cleaned up by Biden ahead of Trump's victory in 2024, and now that Trump is president again they are once again becoming third world caliber

12 years ago we shot down MH17. My trolls will remind you that Russia got rid of that kind of BUK in late 1990s so we couldn't have shot it down. So here's Prez at Russia's 102nd Military Base in Dec 2013 with a Russian BUK-M1 vehicle with 9M38(M1) missiles that only Ukraine has had since the 90s..

Today we remember the 298 lives lost in the downing of Flight MH17 on July 17, 2014. A Dutch-led investigation confirmed a Russian missile brought the plane down, yet Russia continues to deny responsibility and shields those convicted.

A Ukrainian drone commander walked into GLOBSEC with a scenario for Europe. 20 armed men capture a village on NATO's eastern border. Russia denies it. The country sends armored vehicles in. They don't make it. Russia builds 20-kilometer kill zones now. 98% vehicle destruction inside the belt.

4. Ship leaves port with visible "mine" on hull. Pilot would check draught marks on departure. "Mine" attached right next to marks. "Mine" is not noticed by several pilots, linesmen, tugs, etc... 5. Story highly unlikely

Donald Trump has done a lot of terrible things to this country over the last decade. But here’s what I think is most insidious of all: Trump has taught Americans that cruelty is strength, that resentment is identity, and that hating other people somehow makes you superior.

I am not worried software is suddenly going to decide it wants power over humanity. I am worried about what people who already have power over humanity can do with that software.

While the ”Narva scenario” has become such a popular doom narrative that it even has its own Wikipedia page, trying to take it wouldn’t be a walk in the park for Russian little green men. Here’s four reasons why. With Marek Kohv @icds-tallinn.bsky.social

This is arguably the real “elite bubble.” The dumbest person most educated professionals have any meaningful social interaction with—the guy at the office they snicker about in the group chat—is a solid standard deviation brighter than the American mean. This necessarily skews one’s perspective.

Part of Trump’s mass appeal (and of why he’s so dangerous) is that he really seems to share Joe Barstool’s worldview that there are no complex problems: Everything has a simple brute solution, which previous leaders were somehow too stupid or weak to deploy.

These ghouls act like they've discovered some novel secret: "Hey, guys, GUYS! Did you know that we can just kill people whenever we want?" Yes, you absolute idiot, that's ALWAYS been true. We just chose not to, for good and self-interested reasons which the entire world is about to learn yet again.

I've long believed that MAGA is simply a pride movement for sociopaths. This type of comment is anthropologically interesting. Most of us understand empathy to be the basis of all civilization. I.e., we cannot have a society without common concern. It doesn't function otherwise.
