A very old tree at my local park that's been through some shit. I love it dearly.
I wish its gnargled majesty came through more in the photos.

Got my shiny plat for Dungeons of Hinterberg last night. Really enjoyed the experience! I'll give the extra episode a spin somewhere down the line, and I wanna try NG+ at some point too. I'm antsy to start something new though, so it's time to move on.
Overall, I liked the dichotomy of the social aspects vs the dungeon crawling. I wish it weren't so rigid in what you can do throughout each day (always a dungeon/area in the afternoon and socializing/town time in the evening). But I liked most of the characters and the world was charming.

After hearing @joe-byron.bsky.social's high praise a while back (right?), I finally picked up The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben. Only a chapter in and I'm already entranced.

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.
Been in a rut for a bit now. First couple months after being laid off, it made sense to regroup and focus on home life instead of flailing around for what's next.
Now? It's clear I've fallen into some bad habits and my immobility is affecting my health and financial security.
My current focus is narrowing it down to what's feasible; as in, what will keep me invigorated, where can I best utilize my talents, and how long will it take for me to achieve it?
Maybe I need to speak to a career coach, though that feels like more treading water and I feel the urge to move soon.
At the very least, I need to change some habits to break free from the mold. Part of my daily routine will be moving forward on whatever path I choose. That will accomplish multiple short term goals I have for myself.
Anyway. Any advice from y'all is welcome and appreciated.

Starting to take steps finally but it's tough because I'm aiming for a complete career shift. My goal is something centered in environmental sciences as that's what I feel most passionate about now and it appears to have sustainable careers.
But what does that look like? There are so many routes.

Son, yelling from another room: "Is that the ice cream truck music?!"
I'd make a point of buying ice cream from that truck, man.

Decided to watch the FF13 cutscenes on YT rather than spending another 20ish hours playing. I'll get around to the sequel soonish.
Instead, I'll spend my nights playing Dungeons of Hinterburg (started last night, love it already) and Brütal Legend!

What's everyone's favorite DLC?
I don't get very many of them, but Frozen Wilds is one of my favorites. The extra zone is gigantic with interesting characters and new enemies that are tough-as-nails. The main- and side-quests are varied and fun, and the story is compelling.

Didn't watch Tsate of Lpay but the release date for FFVII Revelation was announced and I AM PUMPED.
The next seven months is gonna feel like an eternity though D:

YOU DON'T "CONSUME" ART MOTHERFUCKER. YOU EXPERIENCE IT. YOU FEEL IT. YOU ENGAGE WITH IT. YOU WRESTLE WITH IT. YOU LIVE IT. ART ISN'T A LITTLE MORSEL YOU GOBBLE UP.
In a weird place for the post-game of E33. I'm still having a great time when I boot it up, but when I actually consider the tasks, quests, and areas to explore I feel exhausted. Think I'll shelve it for now, and maybe do a NG+ next year some time. Don't wanna sour the experience, ya know?

I would 100% support a law that says if any digital platform removes your access to media you paid for then they are required to refund you the entirety of the original purchase price.
That would solve this whole thing in a hurry.
Sony has responded to a digital games lawsuit by arguing that players don't actually own the games they buy
Its lawyers say they are licensed rather than sold
Just gotta accept that I'm not into management sims.
Tried Becastled (RTS/town management/tower defense) to sate my tower defense urge. Haven't made it through the tutorial yet but I'm kind of exhausted already. I'll give it more time tomorrow but...
Looks like a fun game, fwiw!

It was hard enough losing Dolly yesterday. ☹️ And now, we cry a sea of black tears for our very own Doviculus: The irreplaceable Tim Curry.
May these beloved legends rest well, as we carry their spirit forward~
🩷🖤
Got my boy Goof Troop and an extra SNES pad for his bday so we can play together.
Also got him a new beanbag chair to melt into while playing.
And I snagged myself FFXIII-2 on a whim as I've always been curious about it.
Good haul today :)

I made a poster for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary art gallery. I was supposed to hear back by yesterday if the piece was selected to be displayed but I haven’t received any response. Assuming I wasn’t selected, here’s the finished piece. I hope you like it! 💙
