This is indefensible behaviour from Everwind. The research done by this reddit poster on the issue is worth your time. The link to the thread www.reddit.com/r/halifax/co... - The Halifax Examiner is one of the last true resources we have for journalism in Nova Scotia. Disgusting.

"Nova Scotia has a long history of fast-talking people from far away jetting into the province with grandiose schemes they claim will make us all rich, and with promises of jobs, jobs, jobs. And Nova Scotian politicians have a long history of believing them ....". 19thC NS historian says, Amen.

What ‘procedures’ weren’t followed at EverWind’s data centre announcement?: The ejected reporters respond to MPs Blois and Kelloway by Joan Baxter @joanbaxter.bsky.social and Jennifer Henderson @dartjenhen.bsky.social

“We are not in a position to litigate competing claims” let’s be real, not taking a stand is taking a stand. Disappointed in the reaction from my MP.

MPs Kody Blois and Mike Kelloway have responded to my open letter to them, attached. I've asked Jennifer Henderson and Joan Baxter to respond, and they will later today. In the meanwhile, here are my thoughts.

My suspicion, based only on my understanding of how the world works, is that if the data centre is actually built, it will be powered by the Point Tupper coal plant.

Today, minimum wages in NS and PEI went up for the second time this year, but how have minimum wages kept up with the cost of living this year? Atlantic Canada has some of the highest rates of inflations in the country. #nspoli #nbpoli #peipoli #nlpoli

Dolly Parton at the first show she ever played in Canada. It was on Feb. 20, 1972 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, where she was a special guest for Porter Wagoner's Traveling Road Show. While not the headliner, many said she stole the show. 📸 Vancouver Sun

This isn't the first time the USA has placed 50% tariffs on Canada. In 1890, the USA's Tariff Act was touted as a way to build up American industry, but the true goal was forcing the annexation of Canada. It backfired and made Canada stronger. This is the story. 📸 LoC 🧵1/10

when i say canada shouldn’t try to catch silicon valley on ai, that doesn’t mean we should just jump on a different hype train. it means rejecting the silicon valley model and building tech for the public good, not to maximize shareholder value and corporate control.

Prime Minister Carney went out of his way to negotiate a trade deal with gangsters. He held Team Canada together despite the constant insults from the MAGA gang. Canada will go more than the extra mile to find common ground but we will never bow and kiss the gangster's ring. We hold the line.

Lol at this "sharp" capitulationist insight. What would a hurricane say if we tarriffed its booze? Because we know how the US reacted. My suggestion: these capitulationists should reflect on what this tells us about the difference between a hurricane and a country.
