Talarico has the best ad of the whole cycle which simply shows voters that Elon Musk is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in Texas to buy the election with B-roll of him doing Nazi salutes. I think every major candidate should be running basically the same ad in their media market.

Boo!-per Lund@cooperlund.online

Who do I give to to get this in front of as many Michigan voters as possible?

Musk is spending in every big race. Just adjust to fit your state context and run the same exact ad.

Team Talarico@teamtalaricohq.bsky.social

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale.

It really is okay to have opinions and preferences without having to convince yourself and the world that your thing is actually morally and politically correct

my nuclear-grade AI hot take that’s sure to get me cancelled until kingdom come is that refusing to use AI at all is rapidly becoming an extremely privileged lifestyle choice that feels social justice-y while actually being the complete opposite

In the most recent Pew survey, 49% of people say they ever use AI chatbots and 51% say they never use them. Those that do use them are much more likely to be higher income and have more education. To argue that not using AI is privilege isn't a "hot take," it is just objectively wrong.

If you like AI, it's fine. Do your thing. Even if we would like to, we cannot stop you. Your side has literal trillions of dollars behind it and we are just posters. But please stop trying to convince the world that your hobby/interest is actually social justice. It's tiresome and transparent.

Lots of examples of a clear pathway forward to defeating fascism and building something out of the wreckage. All lessons that the Democratic establishment is intent on making sure remain ignored.

I think the lesson from Lula is not never talk about the opposition; it's articulate a positive vision that's basically, We Can Just Do Things. That's why Mamdani-ism is so popular - voters have an intrinsic sense that their electeds have agency they're not using

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

It is so fascinating that boomers skipped learning how to use cell phones and basic computer functions, but they are enraptured by AI like toddlers staring at a tablet

Fidel Castro to Lula after he lost in 1982: "Listen, Lula. You don't have the right to abandon politics, to do this to the working class. Get back into politics!"

The story of the Brazilian election was an incredible mobilization effort by Lula. Bolsonaro's vote share remained basically unmoved, while Lula turned out millions of voters who didn't vote in round 1.

Brazil has a sports gambling problem that is just as bad, if not worse, than the United States. Lula won after banning the sports gambling platforms in between the first and second round of the election. Pretty amazing.

The haters and doubters are saying that AI isn't a revolutionary technology but have they considered that it can be used to tell you what you like about your child?

It's so funny to have dinner with the president and focus on his "etiquette" like he is a misbehaving 13-year-old who just got back from being sent to boarding school and has really shown improved behavior

“Yeah I did it again, bitches. Fuck you, I like these dinners.” @billmaher lashes out, defends himself for having dinner with Trump again. He says Trump had good etiquette, never lost his temper or yelled… How nice! Imagine being this far up your own ass.

"Also, I wanted to tell Bill that he's a major POTHEAD. He's got to stop, it's very bad for his health. He looked like hell this time. Bill was drunk and had alcohol in his hand as he walked through the White House."

You can get your hopes up now. A tremendous comeback by Lula to defeat fascism. He does it again. Best news in a very long time!

Don't want to get anybody's hopes too high too early, but things are looking much better for Lula than expected

For context, the vote has moved towards Lula from the first round in 271 of the 305 municipalities, with an average swing towards Lula of 4.5 points. If that holds, he wins.

The other thing with all these other Dem cowards throwing trans people under the bus is that it just keeps the feeding frenzy alive. The press loves when they get Dems to equivocate or give a controversial response. If you just unequivocally support trans people you deprive them of oxygen.

BeshearStan@beshearstan.bsky.social

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

Read this thread. An election is being stolen in Brazil in real time.

Rafa Sales Ross@rafiews.com

I haven’t slept a full night in three weeks ahead of the polls opening in Brazil today. I might be shouting into a void here, but if you can spare a few seconds to send good energy towards our elections today and for the largest country in South America to beat fascism, please do so. 🇧🇷

Has this ever happened in reverse? I can’t think of any progressive electeds not endorsing the centrist candidate, but it is happening consistently in the other direction. Exact opposite of what we have been told for years.

I feel a mix of pity and contempt for Haley Stevens supporters. The same people who were (or still are) indignant about Joe Biden getting pushed out of the race and wish he had stayed in

I hate this noble savage shit so much. Americans do not think Cheesecake Factory is a nice and fancy restaurant. Just because people eat there because they can afford it does not mean they think it's nice. People aren't stupid. They know what a fancy restaurant is.

Scott Lemieux@lemieuxlgm.bsky.social

"The party left me. I used to be a Democrat, but know that Obama has made fun of Trump for making the White House look like a dictator designed an over-the-top chain restaurant I favor starving African children and bringing measles back"

There are some real class differences in perception. Like the $75 a plate, reservation-only restaurant in your city is fancy to you and not to rich people. But nobody thinks that these chain restaurants are high class dining. You can only say that if you are the one who views people as peasants.

"With no impact on the bottom line, mainstream corporate America is pulling back and starting to view token spending not as a source of growth but as a cost center that weighs on margins."

It seems that AI is the latest excuse for corporations who want to layoff their employees, which has hyped the notion that "AI is taking everyone jobs." Because AI productivity is not showing up in the data at all, and firms are cutting token spend rather than increasing it.

This isn’t going to win him a single vote. It’s just hate for its own sake. Disgusting.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Underlying this is a nice articulation of why “identity versus economy” is a bankrupt and nonsense debate. To be black in America is to be more exposed to lead, asthma, carcinogens, food desserts, unclean drinking water, etc.

Headquarters@headquartersnews.bsky.social

Abdul El-Sayed: We put glasses on kids' faces, made sure they weren't exposed to lead in schools, took on corporate polluters to tackle asthma. Our reckless fool of a president froze everything from our vaccine program, to community health centers, to the WIC programs that moms and babies depend on.

This is also why I think this generic "groceries are too expensive" doesn't really cash out. In its attempt to be universally appealing, it loses its ability to actually make anyone feel connected to a party that cares about them.

The most important thing about a president is his table manners. Forget the illegal wars and paramilitary killings and trying to overturn elections, you're saying that he didn't interrupt you or scream at you during dinner?? Well shit! I didn't know that. Here I was thinking he was a bad president.
