Polls are open until 8 pm and the correct Chow, Olivia Chow, is #9 on the ballot. For the love of Toronto, get to your polling station.

Listening to Alberta separatists it is clear that the things they complain about are mostly provincial responsibilities under the Constitution - provincial governments which have been Conservative for 83 of the last 87 years.

Had my 13th Covid shot (Moderna) yesterday and I have to say my 5G reception has never been better and my dream time conversations with Bill Gates have been great! The savings on foil for the hats I no longer need have enabled an improved lifestyle so its all good!

Thinking a lot about obstacles created to stop people from voting. I voted in the advance poll for our municipal election today and it was nearly frictionless. I walked in, showed the poll clerk my voter's card (mailed to me a few weeks ago) and photo ID, got my ballot, marked it, done. 5 minutes.

Ukrainian presidential advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov confirms Elon Musk's Space X crippled Ukrainian capabilities last night. In other words, the US deliberately sabotaged European defence operations mid-mission. Every country in the world should move away from buying American hardware ASAP.

Tired: The shore power is off this morning for four hours for a scheduled wiring upgrade. Wired: We are on onboard genny power now but it seems a bit weird to be running a 6kw diesel gen-set to run a few lights and the coffee machine but … coffee! Yay! 😆 Also wired: it’s not January!

If #AI is going to kill off all of us in the next decade (new #virus?) who is then left to keep the data centre lights on? Wouldn’t they have to build a race of super humanoid robots first? Robot games showed a whole lot of progress is needed there. Would “we” notice or care or just help build ‘em?

Gather 'round, because it’s time for a deep-dive exposé on the greatest religious heist in history. Let’s talk about how corporate titans literally bought, repackaged, and completely manufactured the "Christian America" brand we see today.

Dear fellow Canadians - you know Trump's stunt about "re-naming" Lake Ontario is just that. A stupid stunt to distract from all the real and important issues between our countries where Trump is failing so miserably. It's arguing with Grandpa. Don't waste your time. #cdnpoli

If I was advising Avi Lewis, I'd tell him that he should raise his national profile by making more strong statements critical both of Carney's handling of Canada's relationship with the U.S., and his shortsighted cuts to the federal government that will cause many short-term and long term problems.

Andrew Jeanes@wanderoo.bsky.social

Avi Lewis has been regularly posting on social media (Bluesky, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), speaking in public, door-knocking in support of NDP candidates in by-elections etc. since April. If you're not seeing him in the newspapers or on TV, that's not really his fault.

We are being weaponised against each other by design. The battlefield? The gap between Relative Truth and Ultimate Truth. Politicians, billionaire media owners, and Gen-AI bot farms don’t want you to see the difference. Here is how they use philosophy to control you.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

OK, that sounds far-fetched. Oh fuck... "Advanced AI and specialized software can analyze how radio waves bounce off a human body, effectively turning router signals into a tool that tracks shape and movement."

I once went into a record store and asked for a copy of “Dire Straights” by The Sultans of Swing. The clerk thought about it for a second and said he thought that might be the wrong way around. I was so sure I was right! 🤣

Some would-be genii will tell you—without being asked—that the plural of octopus is octopi and the plural of omnibus is omnibi and, for that matter, the plural of hocus-pocus (why do you even need one) is hoci-poci. 1/21
