Seriously though, why do "some men" have a problem when they have to use a system built for women? And ask what other men can do to support them and help them to accept the tiara is an essential part of the process.

I've been reading a lot of the sayings of the Desert Fathers recently, collections of quotes and parables from monks who lived in the Egyptian Desert from around 270ad. And there's a lot to be learned from them, but if I may, I'd like to paraphrase one which I think bluesky really needs to hear...

These are beautiful books 😍

I can't put into words how I feel towards the media who, yet again, have hounded someone to take their own life. And the academia who shrugged. For the days to come, who will truly reflect on how they have contributed to depriving two children of growing up with their father?

And yet, at the same time Arday was being hounded to his grave, the arrest of the Vice Chancellor of University of Manchester was barely mentioned and instantly forgotten because he was just another boring white middle aged man. Some of us noticed the disparity. Shame on those of you who didn't.

We need to refer to that interview with Razzle and the ex Tory Reform guy every time she interviews Lib Dems and Greens. She gave him lots of space to speak. #Newsnight

The BBC is really struggling in this article with its description of females under the age of 18. None of them were women when the crime was committed.

Politainment dominated when we needed journalists and experts explaining the issues, but there's not much profit in that. Ordinary people are confused and stressed. Some become anxious, and some turn confusion into anger. Chronic stress is a major factor in many conditions the NHS treats.

Stephen Bush@stephenkb.bsky.social

This is false. Every other week was “you can have no border, a border in the Irish Sea, or a border on the island of Ireland. Please pick one”.

I've not seen any interest in the WNC Hackleton and Roade by election on here or anywhere. I've had so many leaflets and door knockers. The Liberal Democrat and Green candidates both seem sound. Told the Tories exactly why it's a no, but still no Labour or Reform door knockers as yet.

This is why it's important to teach your children to listen and question. A confident and articulate speaker isn't necessarily accurate or informative, let alone honest.

Hegseth: As I've said before, the world needs this waterway a lot more than we do. We expect the world to step up. At the appropriate time, and soon, we will hand responsibility back to you.

I met the Lib Dem candidate for my local council by election, and he's sound. He mentioned sorting out potholes, so I told him proper public transport and active travel would not only reduce them but would improve everyone's lives, especially children's, and so much more. He actually listened.

When will men in politics be scrutinised as aggressively as women are? This isn't the first time Tice has dodged his UK taxes, but for 'some reason', the media haven't hounded him daily for weeks on end or pried into his personal living arrangements, which incidentally, is relevant.

Torsten Bell@torstenbell.bsky.social

We already knew Richard Tice aggressively avoided tax. Now we’re told his company just plain failed to pay tax that was legally due. For someone supposedly in public service he goes to extreme lengths to avoid paying his fair share towards public services www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

It's time for Sir Keir Starmer to publicly state, it would be nice if he could have just one day without having to deal with whatever Trump is doing to boost ratings. We voted out the Tory drama in 2024 so we'd appreciate it if you stopped doing it. Now. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I'm just putting this thought out there as it's about time. The US government is about to be completely overtaken by incompetent people who believe in their own brilliance and is abhorrent to stuff that the Pope takes issue with

When will people start to question what is it about our society, our education, and the economic system that disables or excludes so many people?

"News" is "fast moving," but accurate information about current affairs is what it is, and the BBC used to do it brilliantly across the board. We need journalism back at the heart of The Today Programme and stop the presenter monologue followed by either a soft soap or haranguing interview.

Michael Savage@michaelsavage.bsky.social

The Today programme remains a huge show - but insiders say recent departures have created an "existential moment". For top talent, it is now a resistible offer... & does it need more personality or its regular, repeatable format? & who will replace Amol Rajan? www.theguardian.com/media/2026/m...

The first "credible" anti vax person I met was the midwife who led the NCT antenatal class, recommended by Poole NHS. She made us feel like we'd would be poisoning our babies, and some mothers chose not to vaccinate. Antenatal yoga was just the same. That was in 1997.

Otto English@ottoenglish.bsky.social

The UK was declared measles free in 2017. Vaccine programs completely eliminated it. Since then, pro sickness conspiracy theorists and anti science idiots have enabled its return.
