BREAKING NEWS The 2026 #NobelPrize in Literature is awarded to the Canadian author Anne Carson, “for her bold and inventive oeuvre that, in playful dialogue with the classical tradition, has created new forms for contemporary literature.”

If you worked with Wesleyan University Press on a book, check your Anthropic allocation. In the last few days they went through and assigned themselves 100% of the allocation.

Sent a quick note to a scholar whose work I admire shortly after seeing this, they replied warmly but briefly, our days were both a little better, 10/10 recommend.

LLMs constantly sending these cloying, fawning fan letters as part of a "book club" scam has really ruined what used to be a very nice part about being a writer.
