Dear any fellow trans person who sees this: you are amazing and good and more than tough enough to make it through these times. Believe in the me that believes in you, and you that believes in yourself. 🩷🀍🩡

The best blocks are the extremely justified ones, and the second best blocks are the extremely petty ones. Oh, you think the word "moist" is bad? That's a block! You hated a mediocre piece of media and needed to tell the world? Blocked. You posted a butt ugly slop meme about a guy we all hate? Block

Michael Hobbes@michaelhobbes.bsky.social

"You can't block someone just for being annoying!" Those are actually the most important people to block

I was working in the lab late one night When my eyes beheld an eerie sight For my laptop did complain it had no room And suddenly, to avoid such doom (I cleared the cache) I cleared the monster cache (The monster cache) And then I emptied Trash (I cleared the cache) The goddamn cookie stash…

Still pretty inept but sometimes lucky! Winter Wrens are always hard to find and hard to see, in my experience, but yesterday while I sat in the park one hopped through the flower bed right in front of me. The message? Get outside, get coffee, and …sit? Yep. πŸͺΆ

correct states further down the path of autocracy than us have had those autocracies overthrown by sufficiently large voting numbers recently we can do it here too

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

The US is not about to have a free and fair election. The state has put its thumb on the scale to favor the ruling party in multiple ways. It's a mostly free, somewhat unfair election. But still one where the ruling party can be overwhelmed by numbers. Hence the term "competitive authoritarianism."

THIS IS ALL TO SAY: if you find yourself not seeing as many hand crafted artisans at the con(s) you frequent, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist, it might mean they didn’t get in! Good cons want your feedback, if you want more hand made, tell them! :)

Periodic reminder! I make all the prints on paper I sell by hand, each color individually, with screens I burn or blocks I carve and package them all myself. I don’t print my own shirts, however I have never hidden this fact and don’t lie and say I do! I use a vendor who lives in walking distance>

The problem is... I'm not asexual, but I have almost crippling social anxiety/RSD, and I keep everybody at arm's length to avoid developing too much of an attachment to anybody. People are a lot to deal with. I am a lot to deal with. I don't want to be responsible for other ppls feelings.

I think artists and sex workers should have a natural allyship. Both of us are often told we should not be allowed to charge for our work if it is at all pleasurable. Both of us are wanted for what we can do, but our work is considered not worth paying for. We should stick together

I knew it. I've always known we're being undercounted.

"Trans people are a tiny group with no power" This isn't true, and I hope my trans readers can internalize this. You are more powerful than you think. Trans and gender expansive people are 2.34% of the US population in the latest survey. That is more than enough to swing a race.

Things I have inadvertently stockpiled: - bunny poops and stale hay in every corner of my house Everything else was more or less deliberate tbh

Audrey Sargent@stoutheartstudio.com

Things I have inadvertently stockpiled: - Art supplies, especially odd drafting stuff from pre 1980 - Yarn - Plants - Herbs and Spices - Sharpies - Rubber ducks (starting 2000s- pre Jeep duck craze) - Mostly full medication bottles - Clothing, cleaning supplies, and makeup I can’t use anymore

Guys, we are SO GOOD at making music, cartoons, comics, movies, etc now. Like, the overall average quality has gone way up in just about every measurable way, for better or worse, over the last few decades. We are blessed with abundance.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Alright, here's mine lol (it should be noted that I don't log movies I watched the mst3k or rifftrax versions of.)

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Time to post your #LastFourWatched πŸ‘€πŸ©Έ

Maybe more of a Fat Person complaint, but the neck holes on T-shirts (especially larger sizes!) should be just a LITTLE bit larger, on average. Hate feeling like I'm getting strangled. On some shirts I have to literally stretch it until a few stitches give just so it doesn't rub my skin raw. πŸ˜’

Autistic people who are sensitive to clothing and textures: What is the one clothing issue you wish other people would understand?

I sometimes think being constantly bombarded with messaging aimed almost exclusively at people who are nothing like me is making me a little insane and there is no way to remedy this because it has been like this my entire life except for toy commercials when I was a little kid.

for the #BirdOfTheDay alt theme #Juveniles, here's a repost of an adorable floof of a newly-fledged Maui 'alauahio...little one has some adult wing feathers (see the hint of yellow-green?) but the rest is still grey down. Sticking to the shady side of their grand 'ohia home. #birds πŸ“·πŸŒΏπŸ¦‰
