It's notable how many such as Howerton (only briefly mentioned here, but his content is easily found) made a moral case for Trump in 2024 but now make a theological case against Talarico.

For this story, reported with @jdavidgoodman.bsky.social, I spent time with Rigby at his church, a thriving progressive congregation in Austin. Here's our story on the theological and political debates this campaign is kicking up in Texas and beyond: www.nytimes.com/2026/06/01/u...

How is this not @nytpitchbot.bsky.social?

Trump administration officials vowed that mass deportations would help a labor shortage in the agricultural sector. But the administration has quietly acknowledged that its crackdown has aggravated the issue, making it cheaper for farmers to hire immigrant workers on temporary visas instead.

The original use of the term was for metals and to promote assimilation, but the point still stands-- adding different metals changes the alloy. I still choose to believe that valuing and learning from our cultural diversity is a positive.

The fact that they didn't lead with "the officer has been placed on leave pending investigation" should be an entire story in itself.

In 2018 I posted that both Democrats and Republicans want to reduce the number of abortions but disagree about how. Multiple of my youth pastors from growing commented that they've never seen anything from Democrats about reducing abortions. It was literally in the Democrat party platform.

Scott Jennings: "Let me start this conversation by saying that my personal view is slavery was a reprehensible institution" If you have to say that, now is probably a VERY good time to consider what you're about to defend.

They completely violated due process, imprisoned people in inhumane conditions, told multiple judges they no longer had any control of these people's fate for months, and openly flouted court orders and somehow the headline turns into Trump getting imprisoned Americans released. What. The. Fuck.

The government did it, so I assume they followed the process is a demonstrably terrible assumption to make about this administration and the very reason why the case he's being questioned in exists.

Rand: The US government has received assurances from South Sudan that people removed there won't be persecuted/tortured? Giles: I believe so....I wasn't involved in that. But there were people removed to South Sudan, so I would think those assurances were received

Actually, time travel would be a pretty solid platform rn.

Mike Masnick@masnick.com

I mean, look, if Mamdani actually had invented time travel, went back in time and invented Twitter so it existed six years before it was created, to tweet about something that happened when he was 9 yeas old, with a picture of him at age 33, well... then maybe it's something to talk about...

This is one of the most disturbing videos I've seen recently, so prepare yourself... I'm going to try to give some context for what's happening here, and why it should have all of us concerned about the spread of far-right Christian supremacy in America. 1/ www.instagram.com/reel/DKD4zhG...

Leavitt: "Now these illegal criminal murderers and rapists have to sit in Djibouti with out ICE agents who now have to sit there for more than 2 weeks ... it's truly despicable what's happening in our court system & the president hopes that the Supreme Court will it needs to do."

I'm loving how Boasberg is asking about the government's public statements, the attorneys are coming up with reasons they shouldn't be considered in the case, and Boasberg is basically like, "so are they full of shit?"

I hate it here.
