There was an issue with my unemployment payout this week :))) If y'all have it and are willing I will say it will help. I'm looking at fun ways to like, "give you your bang for your buck" but truthfully I am *going through it* and trying to stream/be funny/entertaining is real hard right now.

And as always, Ko-Fi is the "I have the ability to throw a bit his way" option, but don't feel like you have to. I know a lot of us are in bad places right now and there's a lot going on in the world. I have a lot on my brain so it might be a little quieter while I Figure that out™️

I love sex workers and I love furries and I love trans people and I love nsfw creators and all the people that first came to bluesky and made this site into what it is. The same people the devs of this site actively hate and keep trying to get rid of. May they never be swept away. Give them hell.

I often forget that the company site I made years ago used to have a neat cursor-follow effect, but it did not perform well so I had to turn it off. It did this cool half-tone pattern where the dots physically grow and shrink based on proximity to your mouse.

I'm really happy with how quickly my art has improved. I haven't been drawing every day, or even every week, but I've been trying to draw regularly and challenge myself when I do. Comparing art from last July to earlier this week and I think the difference is stark! #art #illustration #noai

I feel it's important to share this again. The internet is so hostile toward creators nowadays. I've seen people have their work stolen, and no longer feel comfortable sharing their creations. We can do better. Let's be supportive to the people that make this a better place! 💞

Hey, is there a company with comparable quality to MeUndies? Because they sent me Harry Potter boxers today and I am cancelling that shit forever

Make stuff. For the love of all that there is, please just keep making stuff! Doesn't matter if it's bad, good etc. Just *keep* making stuff.

if you have a self-hosted webcomic, you should check if your webhost (mine is namecheap) has already addressed the php update for you. it probably requires no input from you. if you have access to cpanel, you can check phpadmin; the version number will be on the right side.

I'm not looking forward to writing this next changelog. Way too much stuff, and still not nearly as much as I wanted to get done, but I think it's time to call it.

knockoff software is making headlines, so i would like to remind everyone not to download software from publishers you don’t trust. even if it’s going viral. especially if it’s going viral.

Neocities and hosted sites are not affected by PHP2Shell, we don't use PHP. However, if you have any non-Neocities sites running PHP, you need to patch them immediately. Read more here: www.wiz.io/blog/php2she... Cursory reading suggests this could be the worst exploit in web history.

Genuinely, when I open my little, very janky game, I just sit there for hours and playtest. Not because I have to, but because I built a thing I enjoy playing and marvel at the idea that *I* made that. As a kid, this was something I imagined only studios/teams could do.

genuinely "making games" is the best game I ever played, I was hooked as soon as I made an image change to a different image on a button press my first game involved a stickman on a skateboard, he moved up and changed to a stickman doing an ollie when I held down the space button! it was magic!

Godot made game development so much more accessible to me than other engines I tried previously. I'm glad I never have to touch Unreal or Unity again. Bad companies making relatively unfriendly user interfaces. Godot's UI is not perfect, but I don't get lost as easily. (Also, open-source)

Replying to @grawlich.art

I have more old code from the same project for a modern audio player with time-synced lyrics, inspired by Spotify's UI (before things went south with them). It relied on you first taking the lyrics into a FOSS app like UltraStar Creator, getting a timed .lrc and just pasting it in.

I did upload some works to the old blog just to show the layout I mean. It seems like it should be pretty easy to do, but as far as my experimentation went, it seems it cannot be done with pure CSS. This took some kinda complex JS and magic numbers to get working and I want to make a better version.

Last night, I did try and revive some unmaintained code I had sitting for an old masonry gallery, like dA had. It's kinda hard to wrap my brain around the logic now, but I'll figure it out. I had to migrate it to Svelte 5 syntax and I'm reworking the main function to be more reusable.

It's not hard to do manually with grid or flex-box, but getting the images to create variable row sizes that use the aspect ratio of the images rather than the pixel sizes automatically is... a lot of calculation.

LRP: I took down the posts, as I want to do, but I had mentioned this as the primary driving force behind my nearly decades-log desire to rebuild a modern equivalent to the old dA UI. Finding things was SO easy, it was wonderful. I almost never had to use text search, the categorization was good!

(Sorry for the lack of audio) A. It's copyrighted. B. I don't think I performed all that well lmao But, the component work reliably! I need to pull and update it for my current blog, too.

If I had more time, I'd really like to create a custom UI library for media posts and galleries that you can just import and use where you want. Ideally, framework-agnositc, but at least for Svelte.

Probably not happening any time soon, mainly because I'm almost at my limit on *one* platform, but maybe I can help consult/concept on someone else's project...? I'm getting really bummed-out by the number of indie platforms shutting down due to lack of funding. Shit's hard out there.

If you do have an existing project you'd like a hand on, feel free to reach out. I may or may not be able to work directly on your codebase, but I can at least answer some questions about developing and setting up websites!

im not gonna name names but i think the thing every art website trying to fill the old deviantART void gets tragically wrong is: categorization/searchability/discoverability. limited or no submission categories, crappy search tools, and sometimes LIMITED TAGS (bonkers) (what's wrong with you)
