I cannot tell you how fucking mind-blowing it was when Netflix was like "you can start watching in one room and pick up where you left off in another" like that was cavemen-discovering-fire shit

I want you to understand that most of these big game studios are still profitable, even Bioware. The problem is leveraged buyouts, which means taking out massive loans in order to buy someone else's company. It's like buying a luxury car you can't afford, then paying it off by selling it for parts.

The only people who didn't understand that this is exactly what would happen were the execs at Sony and Microsoft. The entire point of a console is that it's simple, reliable and cheap. If it's not all of those things then people will find alternatives.

Okay. Let's go over the stupid: "I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BUBBLE TO POP SO I CAN BUY ALL THOSE GPUS REAL CHEAP." Those "GPUs" only barely qualify as such. Many of them don't even have a video output, or can't be used outside specialized servers. They're no good to anyone. They're future e-waste.

Engagement bait irritate me so much because seeing people fall for it is like watching a dog look for the ball after someone pretends to throw it. They're not really talking to you. They're not really asking you a question. They don't really care what you think. Why don't you get that?

Okay, my media-illiterate people with tiny baby brains: Understand that when people mistreat sentient robots and computers in fiction it's a commentary on how we treat other people, usually marginalized groups. It is not and has never been about the possibility machines are or could be people.

If tech executives hadn't placed themselves above the law, refused to abide limits, bought politicians and flaunted their impunity, then people wouldn't feel as though their only recourse was violence. Not a one of these dipshits understood that abiding the law wasn't a prison but a protection.
