the number of “yes on 42, no on 40” ads I’m seeing here in LA is depressing remember: yes on the billionaire tax (40), no on the ones canceling the billionaire tax (41 and 42)

Troy Jackson has been all over the entire state of Maine, talking to voters and answering questions with honesty. You know where Susan Collins is right this minute? A fancy dinner for donors at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. Which do you want? #MEpolitics #VOTE #JACKSONforMAINE #RetireSusan

From canvass launches to farm visits to town halls, Mainers are ready for change and are coming together with their communities to get out the vote. I'm so grateful to fight alongside all of you! 💙

1/ I fear Paul is correct, but this can be countered: Democratic Presidential candidates in 2028 should simply announce that any such pardons will be disregarded, and any Supreme Court decision upholding those pardons will also be disregarded.

Paul Waldman@paulwaldman.bsky.social

That's not where this will end. On his last day in office, Trump is going to issue a blanket pardon for EVERY POLITICAL APPOINTEE IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH for all crimes committed between January 20, 2025 and January 20, 2029. Mark my words.

4/ b) Trump is issuing those pardons to ensure his cronies' silence; the pardons themselves represent bribes/extortion, and any discussion Trump had with exec employees represents conspiracy.

5/ I'm sure I'm missing a couple. But TLDR: Say out loud that you're going to disregard the pardons, laugh at him for trying it, and prosecute them anyway.

And now, a brief message as I watch THE CONJURING 2 for the first time: Lorraine? Don't… don't go towards the painting! Don't go towards the painting of the nun, Lorraine!

Yes. The conservative scheme for education is a three-way split: high-priced academies for the children of the wealthy, religious instruction to brainwash the middle class, and a rump of prison-like public schools to discipline the lower class into obedience.

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

the other thing is that conservatives resolutely do not see the purpose of education as providing social mobility but as reifying and deepening existing inequalities of status. they are as hostile to low income students getting admission to elite institutions as they are black ones.

John Wick is a bookbinder in bis retirement at the beginning of the franchise. They largely cut it out of the movie, but Reeves trained in the craft and everything.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Anyone know in LA want to get their nails done next week? I’m gonna have a car so I’m planning a trip to my spot in Highland Park that is 100% a money launderer who does great cheap nails. Nail day is always more fun with friends!

YOU WERE IN THE BACKROOMS ROBBY, MY CONCERN WAS JUSTIFIED! I feel like @vivaciousvandal might back me up here but i don’t think they’re fully familiar with backrooms lore.

I don’t normally call out @gregmachlin.bsky.social on here, but he was being a real worrywart about me going discount furniture shopping

Damn. Tommy was taken to a school that more people in this country should attend.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

There is absolutely no viable path forward for this country that doesn’t hinge on extreme accountability for everyone involved in this administration. They’re going to whine about politicization and credulous media types will echo them, but the thing is, they’ve committed tons of obvious crimes!

I do not think an exec branch led by a man who thinks he is entitled to treat federal agents as an arm of his firm, refers to Somali Americans as “garbage” and has said racist things specifically about Omar is capable of neutrally applying the law to her, to put it mildly apnews.com/article/ilha...

CALIFORNIA: VOTE NO ON PROP 39! The ads are LYING to you. Prop 39 is a right wing Trojan Horse Voter ID bill that will let the GOP and the Trump crime family make voting harder, riskier, and more expensive. VOTE NO ON 39. IT’S A TRICK.
