I seem to have attracted the attention of a police helicopter on my interval session this morning. They must be particularly dim if they think criminals run up and down a main road repeatedly wearing a 1600 lumen head torch.

Just finished my gym workout. Put my headphones back in their charging case. 20 seconds later, the timer I’d set went off: Bob Mortimer saying “bobble hats” on repeat, at high volume.

Went for a walk in the rain. When I got back, I jumped up and down outside the front door to shake the rain off my coat, and my Garmin incident detection went off and started calling my emergency contacts. (Managed to cancel it in time.)

Someone in the gym has got shoes that are squeaking like a guinea pig every fucking step they take on the treadmill. The sound is getting past my noise-cancelling headphones. Starting to plan how to take out the CCTV so I can murder them.

Heard a noise whilst I was out for my run this morning. Took me a while to work out what it was: the sound of a sweaty bingo wing slapping against my underarm. The joys of summer running in a skimpy vest.

Been out for a walk in the sun. Saw an orange tip butterfly. Chased it to get a photo. A better wildlife interaction than during this morning’s run, when I shat on a slug. I didn’t take a photo of that.

Two letters from the same NHS hospital department in the post yesterday. One postponing an appointment in May to June. The second, postponing the new June appointment to later in June. Same date on both letters. On the envelopes: "Missed appointments cost NHS funds".
