you see, you have to be the right sort of criminal immigrant for the Trump administration

WASHINGTON (AP) โ€” State Department says it will give US visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flรกvio Bolsonaro and his family.

There was a brand new allegation that the president raped a woman in the 1990s yesterday and it appears to not be on the NYT homepage at all right now

Dave Levitan@davelevitan.bsky.social

It is short and so I assume they are looking into things but it is... interesting... that the NYT piece on the new House Dems report on Trump ties to Epstein simply does not mention the brand new rape allegation and says whatever this is instead www.nytimes.com/2026/10/26/u...

This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Reform is a party in crisis, wading through scandals from harbouring a Russian asset to dodgy loans, and yet you wouldn't know that from the way BBC News can't place a microphone in front of Farage's mouth fast enough

What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?

The failure to report the fundamental aspect of these groups isnโ€™t just undermining the BBCโ€™s reputation, itโ€™s actively damaging the nationโ€™s information space

BBC report sanitises the overt racism: It notes that organisers warned marchers not to talk to journalists, then gives the "anti-immigration group"'s own sanitised description of itself. It does not report they chanted "England for the white man" in the streets. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

as I walked past a parked Tesla a creepy laugh boomed as the lights flashed & spooky music played and how incredibly fucking lame to have that on a car and to turn it on makes you even unfunnier than Elon Musk, the most terminally unfunny man alive

You have to laugh at the sheer insanity of Turning Point UK being found to be organising literal contract killings and paid agitation at protests up and down the country and it barely even raises a flicker across the press. If that isn't 'terrorism' on some level I don't really know what is

Reform reporting investigative reporters to the police clearly highlights what the party considers the problem; not attracting massive racists - thatโ€™s even desirable - but people finding out they attract massive racists

Really important not to get the langauge wrong here. Freezing the fighting along current lines isn't ceding territory; it just means stopping fighting. Lots of people are deliberately misunderstanding this and presenting it as Zelenskyy conceding something he is not.

โ—๏ธJournalist: Would you agree to a peace deal with a freeze along the front line, where you keep 75% or more of Ukraineโ€™s territory? Zelenskyy: Yes. Of course, that is the minimum we need from Russia today.
