Maybe just distraction, and of course illegal, but have they thought through their close the DOE plan? The federal government provides about 1/8 of funding (for k-12) in states that vote reliably Red, this is as high as 1/4 or nearly 1/3. The entire DOE is less than 4% of the federal budget.
