Something benefiting you personally is not necessarily a good thing. Something that inconveniences you personally is not necessarily a bad thing.

Reminds me of what the editor of the Dutch anthology 'Ganymedes 26' said at his book launch: "Rest assured that if your submission was not included, it was probably because it was too good, too advanced for our readers. Who live across 14 star systems and thus we have to keep things a bit easy." 😂

Please rest assured that if I do reject your story or poem, it's almost certainly because I'm the idiot who didn't get it.

Eriss has four arms and an extra brain, making her the only starship pilot who is her own copilot. She also has chronic anxiety. That’s not as helpful. Her most recent worry? It looks like her brain has been hacked. (Cover by Miblart) mybook.to/starhusks www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/...

How about a promo day today? Share the cover (with credits!) of your most recent release, what it's about, and where to find it! #WritingPrompt

I get one follower per month on average, who is a beginning writer that uses AI for their covers. Here or on other other platforms. These days I just block them immediately. It always makes me feel bad somehow. But I don't have a lot of hope for change from a person that still uses it. #writing

Ending with the second and third categories of the yearly contest, and the honorable mentions. Congratulations again to all of the winners! So many lovely poems this year! Om a personal note: I am still honored to have won first prize in the Short Form category of the yearly contest.

And finally the SFPA's annual contest. The contest celebrates original poetry. There are three categories: Dwarf Form (1 to 10 lines), Short Form (11 to 49 lines), and long form (50 lines and above).

Onto the Rhysling awards. The Rhysling Award celebrates individual poems published in the previous calendar year. There are two categories: short form (11 to 49 lines) and long form (50 to 299 lines).

So we fly a pride flag in our front yard in a very conservative neighborhood and it’s been there for the last few years. Someone put this in our mailbox and my goodness…

Finished a piece of flash fiction and started a second one. Really happy with these two! 🚀🧟 Trying to get them both shipped of before going on holiday!

Behalve organisator was ik dit jaar ook sprekers op HSFCon. Mijn lezing "Solarpunk: slap some shrubbery on it, or put the punk back into sciencefiction" ging over het belang van hoopvolle verhalen over de (klimaat-)toekomst waarin de menselijke samenwerking en veerkracht centraal staat.

🧵 Attention, Fellow SFF Artists and Authors -- here is my response to Must Read Magazines, after they presented an Asimov's art contract expecting me to waive all Moral Rights and Copyright to my art. And, I would strongly advise the following to my fellow pros…. 1/

In light of some magazines pulling scummy things on creators lately, I’m doing a little thread on short story rights. I don't want anybody getting taken advantage of. Also, if you're new, this stuff can be confusing!

I wanna be modest but you know what: I'm really glad and happy and honored and amazed and grateful and proud that I won 1st prize in the 'short poem' category of this year's SFPA Contest! 🤩🎉💃💣 Go read all poems including mine on their website right now! #SFF #SFpoetry #poetry 🌳

Dat gevoel wanneer je goed schrijfnieuws ontvangen hebt maar het nog niet mag delen 🤐 En dan zie je ineens andere mensen er al over praten 😅 Ik blijf netjes nog even mysterieus ☺️
