A "Scaramucci" is still the standard unit of measurement. All other press secretaries are measured against a Scaramucci, even those fired more quickly. There isn't any need to muck up the units with more metric v. imperial faultlines.

The only way he should ever get a Nobel Peace Prize is because he died and it increased the peace of the world

CNN@cnn.com

"Again, President Donald Trump did not win the Nobel Peace Prize," writes CNN's Daniel Dale. Again, he keeps complaining about his non-victory at length. Again, his griping is centered on the false claim that he 'settled eight wars.'" | Fact Check https://cnn.it/4yGj8XQ

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he would pay $5,000 to every American if Republicans retained control of the U.S. House and Senate in the midterm elections, seemingly in an effort to incentivize votes for his party. www.wired.com/story/trump-...

The correct answer is to say that trans people hurt no one and I will not dignify your bigoted narrative

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Talarico: "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' sports if it endangers safety or fairness"

I've seen it, the most amazing thing ever, I dropped my kiddo off at school and they were all dancing to "Who let the Dogs Out" and she immediately jumped in like the child of an elder millennial

Jeffries should not be speaker again

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Jeffries stop short of committing to holding a vote to abolish ICE is he's House Speaker next January, but says he's "committed to dramatically reforming ICE ... the masks should come off, body cameras should come on, judicial warrants should be required."

As a reminder, our big dumb president is waging a big dumb vendetta over windmills because Scotland put some turbines near one of his big dumb golf courses more than a decade ago.

bbc.comHow Trump's loathing for wind turbines started with a Scottish court battleThe US president is a vocal critic of wind energy - and it's a loathing which began in Aberdeenshire.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Any time you see windmills, you see a failing country"

Whomever runs for President needs to have destroying and recycling of all material with his face or likeness on it as a platform plank.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Bessent finds a workaround to get Trump on currency: "There cannot be an image of a living person, but we have the president's signature [on bills], which I think is appropriate ... we can put living people's images on a coin. The president is also going to have a coin coming out w/ his image on it"

Country's got a real joy deficit above everything else. Knicks win, World Cup going well until Trump ruined them is proof of that. Just create constant excuses for celebrations and parties. We need excuses to hang out more than we need maybe literally anything else, economically.

Gavin Newsom is the sort of guy who would vote against a bill allowing you to hunt homeless trans people for sport purely because he believes trans people shouldn’t be allowed to participate in sports.

Poor judgement is the best case for him and should still be disqualifying him from holding office. We have enough idiots running things

This is 💯 the end goal for the tech oligarchs

Timothy Snyder@timothysnyder.bsky.social

Peter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by “free economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)

These people really just want to live their southern plantation owner dreams. You want Americans to work these jobs pay and provide benefits that will attract them to do it.

Politico@politico.com

Farmers in deep-red Pennsylvania are struggling to find workers. They're pushing lawmakers to move faster on a farm labor solution, even as Trump cracks down on immigration. “We need people to do the jobs Americans are too spoiled to do," said one farmer and three-time Trump voter.
