Things I miss about Japan: People not talking loudly or playing music on public transport without headphones. People not reeking of extreme amounts of perfume/cologne. People not spitting on the street and littering all the god damn time.

No country is perfect, and they all have their social and political issues, but holy shit are public transport and streets in Japan a LOT nicer than anywhere else I've been.

This is how "vikings" actually dressed like (a prince in this case). Not that black and brown biker jacket nonsense they are depicted like these days. Colour! People always liked colour!!

No medieval filter here! A modern recreation of a Viking ruler for Denmark’s National Museum, based on the depiction of Cnut in the New Minster Liber Vitae and on clothes found at a grave in Mammen, Denmark. #medievalsky

I made it back to Europe. While I'm glad to have proper coffee again, pretty much everything else is better in Japan. The food, the konbinis, the vending machines, the toilets that clean your butt for you, and the sensory overload that is Don Quijote. Good lord that store is an experience.

I made it to the top Fushimi Inari shrine in the dark and rain last night. Incredibly beautiful, but a bit of a tripping/slipping hazard in the wet and dark. So worth it though.

First onsen experience yesterday evening, followed by a vending machine fruit milk on the balcony with a view of Kanazawa. Quite possibly the most relaxed and content I've ever felt in my life.

Update: Nagano is pretty cool. I got a t-shirt from Don Quijote.

About to head off to Nagano! I'm gonna miss the little Inari shrine near our hotel in Tokyo. It's so beautiful and cozy. Made me so happy whenever I walked past it.

We went to TeamLab Borderless, an interactive digital art installation in Tokyo (super cool and highly recommend if you ever get the chance) where one of the sections allows you to make a crayon drawing, have it scanned, and then it's animated and projected onto the walls.

So, after landing in Tokyo, one of the first things I saw was some sort of demonstration. Not sure what it was about since all the signs were in Japanese, but one person was holding a large progress pride flag (the one with the intersex symbol included). So that was pretty cool to see. :3

I also got one. This is just really gross and the flyer was made with AI, too. 1. DO NOT GO even to “mess it up.” You are putting yourself in danger 2. Do not confront them at events. Tell staff instead.

Found out about this fake meetup through @nyfurs.org . The "meet" is just bait to get furry hate content for a livestream known as Sam Hyde's Fishtank.
