i know truth is usually stranger than fiction because there's some shit that i have seen happen - to me! firsthand! - that i couldn't have dreamed of in a million years

Having this weird moment where I see all the political ad signs and go “wait didn’t this already happen??” Because I early voted last week

ok but this is actually an appropriate way to honor Bacchus and i think the ancients would have agreed

it occurs to me just now that instead of taking my headphones off to tell the flight attendant that I don’t want anything, I can simply just stare into nothingness and they’ll probably skip me. who knew

I’m out here making YouTube videos like: “Writing video: :) Shooting video: :) Editing video: :| YOU CANT MAKE ME” not very conducive to posting videos tbh

One of my favorite cases of someone being Wrong on the Internet was a very earnest, very confused vegan who was telling people how cruel honey is; and it eventually turned out they thought honey was made by putting bees in a centrifuge and spinning them around until they threw up.

what worries me about ai more than all of the stuff surrounding its use is, tbh, the human element. This idea that individual humans have given themselves to the ai so much that their human writing becomes indistinguishable from an ai slopfest of messed-up logic and broken metaphors

i feel like facebook is suggesting famous people for me to friend to try and make me feel bad so i go back onto their platform, but nah. i don't actually know these people! i am aware this would be very strange to do! why are you like this

New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran. Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

Sometimes I forget how good and life-giving books are. I need to get back into actively being part of those communities.

I actually was right about this. Oh my god

Haaretz exposé: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received an explicit warning from UAE President bin Zayed days before October 7. He didn't brief Israel's security chiefs. 🔗https://tr.ee/s78NFy

I took the dialect quiz and it said my dialect is most like Delaware, a state I believe I have never been in. is this the accent you get when you read a bunch and basically learn pronunciation from other people by mistake

Sorry it just occurred to me that there may be people who haven’t seen clip from the Quibi show where Rachel Brosnahan plays a woman dying because of her golden prosthetic arm and I needed to fix that

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

You cannot kill Quibi, unlike Rachel Brosnahan’s character in the Quibi show about a woman with a golden arm

me: “I know what I am doing is dumb and bad and I will pay for it later, but I can’t stop myself” me: me: “who could’ve expected this, headaches and being awake at 2am?? Impossible”

not getting reference to old things and being like "no, it's not because I'm too young! it's because I'm oblivious" 8)

Eventually I’ll learn how long it takes to get protection from a vaccine instead of thinking you get it and then have an immediate magic shield. Eventually!!!

writing the youtube script for my next (and hopefully last) llm video ... bleh. all i want to do in it is talk about my own vst plugins i made with llms. what if i added twenty more features to all of them?! [still, nobody would use them. neither would i.]

it's annoying - using llms for this makes it feel like coding is a sort of brainrot. but you can also make cool stuff.

sometimes when i post i'm like "i only got like one like or whatever :(" but then i think about the consequences of if multiple people followed and read my posts and i'm really happy with my decisions generally
