If you're a reliabilist about epistemic justification, why not think that your belief that the coffee machine will produce coffee on this occasion gets its good epistemic status from the reliability of the coffee machine? (i.e. the reliability of the machine, not your belief-forming process)

Are you waking up with a tingle right now as you read the news, basking in the glow of a world that might actually be able to change? You, yes, 🫵you🫵 may be hot for revolution™️

What does it mean to be hot for revolution—to feel a desire to transform the world in your belly and your bones? Here's my latest, on how erotic desire feeds political agency. I draw on AIDS activism, disability justice & other movements against sexual oppression. philpapers.org/archive/WARH...

This is the second and more serious problem: shifting every discussion onto the ethics of rioting effectively prevents the issues which rioters are trying to address to the (flawed) public sphere ever being properly raised. Even if well-intentioned, this is a smushing intervention to pressing issues

First: 'Is rioting always wrong?' is a question that both presupposes the liberal riot/protest distinction (which is not obvious!), and shifts the topic of discussion from rioters demands across to the appropriateness of their methods.

Privative adjectives are ones that don't allow the inference 'adjective+noun' to 'noun'. 'Fake', 'pretend', 'fictional'. Are there any privative adverbs? (i.e. that don't allow the inference from 'walked slowly' to 'walked') [Question from my colleague Katie Zhou, which is bugging me!]

What's some cool literature (i.e. fiction!) in either post-colonial, indigenous, or afro-futurist traditions that engage either with apocalypses or the climate crisis?
