Some of you maybe shocked to know that I took Poli Sci in college. There is a parallel universe where I went into politics. Not as a front-facing candidate, probably - I’m a numbers guy. Polling and cohorts fascinate me. With this knowledge, the data for BC’s next provincial election is *wild*.

Turns out Jesse Marsch is still saying what he thinks. On John Carney, the Balogun affair, the Manchester City verdict, and what's next for him & Canada. Great exclusive interview in @us.theguardian.com today by Joe Callaghan: www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Friday Stat Dump: Shooter g+ Chains I've made a big deal on this account about key passes and Expected Assists (xA) in the past and even "intentional" and "unintentional" elements. Today, we start to go a layer deeper. First, your 2026 MLS key pass leaders through last weekend.

Saw this on my Youtube feed this morning. Surprise #VWFC news? Or more noncommittal fluff for now? Guess we’ll find out 👀

@asarehman.bsky.social Diappointing defensive effort tonight. Felt like Tate had a tough game, especially completely losing his man back post for the 3-3 goal. 2-2 goal also off of unforced errors giving up the corner, and poor coverage on the corner itself. Fine margins. #VWFC

The latest #ViewFrom #VWFC newsletter just dropped! Taking a different approach, @lyteforce.ca goes rogue & and rolls out bullet points. Plus it's been so long since the last issue that it better suits getting an newsletter out quick. 'A Few Random Thoughts' - buttondown.com/from231/arch...

@asarehman.bsky.social How egregiously gamechanging are both of Gauld’s misses? Either 1-1 at HT or 2-1 immediately after the half. #VWFC

If you’ve been wondering where Sebastian Ramirez is, while not yet on the pitch he’s currently sitting next to Kenji Cabrera in Section 231. #VWFC

Pretty solid response game by #VWFC tonight. Lot of players put in a real shift. Hard to nitpick on anyone too hard after that result. @asarehman.bsky.social

Feels a lot like Jesper got this wrong from the opening kickoff. Gherasimencov caught napping twice for two of the goals against. #VWFC @asarehman.bsky.social

This is as good an analysis of player development & its translation from the lower tiers to the top flight as I've ever seen. Should be required reading for every MLS CSO, head coach and – maybe most importantly – owner.

For those keeping track, #VWFC have not scored a first half goal since the game against Cincinnati.

The latest #ViewFrom #VWFC newsletter just dropped! A day late because @lyteforce.ca reasons, the #WhitecapsFC drop a 4-3 result in Cincinnati on horrid defending and lose Sebastian Berhalter on transfer. 'Issue #55 - Defense Optional' - buttondown.com/from231/arch...

There’s a lot of me live-blogging games, aka “WHAT IS OUR DEFENSE DOING” posts

While you have a moment during halftime, come join us in the From 231 Discord server and reminisce over the good times we had with Berhalter! It’s got all the best #VWFC vibes. discord.gg/jsBeeySvQW

Infantino sprinting across the stage to make sure Donnie finds the exit is grandiose. One of the best moments of the tournament already. Almost as good as Spain lifting the trophy to the sky.

Not the result we all wanted, but I’m proud of #CanMNT inspiring a nation - much like #CanWNT have done before them. If it wasn’t clear before, Canada is a soccer nation!! ALLEZ LES ROUGES!

They only put the lyrics for the Algerian anthem in Arabic on the big screen so I joked to @jjadams.bsky.social that they probably say "F the French, we beat the French" And, well, holy shit: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kassaman
