After 2017, I swore I'd never vote Liberal again. But I voted red in the last election because of the importance ... but that's it. If in the next election my vote "doesn't count" and causes a conservative swing, then that is on the Liberals, they've had their chance and chose to squander it.

Glad to see @rob-for-ndp-leader.bsky.social speaking clearly about what voters already know. When Parliament does not reflect how people vote, democracy suffers. Proportional representation is the fix.

@timtierney.ca I've seen you eat and work out of Cuppa Chico ... but have you ever walked to it? There are so many active desire paths of people walking through snowbanks to get there but the only way to get from the MUP is to walk along the road that brand new drivers use for their test #autowa

Look, I'm thirsting for #HeatedRivalry as much as the next hetero cis dude, but I just cannot stand this anachronism. Dominion City did not introduce the City Seltzer line of products until early 2020, but this scene purports to be from 2014! Anyway ... still thirsty.

At the arena in -22Β°, two families pull up at the same time. A minivan and a pickup truck. Minivan kid gets his warm equipment out of the climate controlled cabin, truck kid pulls frigid equipment out of open truck bed. So sad to see a parent's identity crisis impact the children. Cold skates suck!

This is the most I have ever committed to anything in my life and I'm so proud... and I'm not doing any more. The amount of AI garbage happening in #Duolingo now makes it absolutely unbearable to continue. I will definitely continue to learn, but Duolingo won't be in my arsenal any longer!

I am sure this is blasphemous ... but after getting into VGM #Vinyl while the primary enjoyment comes from putting on a record and just enjoying it. Currently I have the Bugsnax LP spinning, sent through an Icecast Server to Music Assistant to Kenku.fm to my Discord group chat and I'm loving it too!

In the wake of multiple deaths and injuries on our roads, Strong Towns Ottawa supports an urgent pilot on banning right turns on reds in the downtown core. We believe the lives of our community members should come before the convenience of drivers. Read the letter we have sent out today below.

We sent a letter to city council today about our growing infrastructure crisis, as well as what we can do to hopefully right the wrongs of our past. We've got over $50 Billion dollars worth of costs laying right under our feet and we hope that some changes in our development pattern can fix this!

100%. The β€œbalanced” approach is simply the adherence to a status quo that will only get worse as the population grows and transit remains under-supported. And the TMP we’re set to approve next week perpetuates more of this.

Today it took 20 minutes to get down Elgin and another 50 to get to Bells Corners by car. A balanced approach to our transportation network gets us all nowhere fast. We need to shift our investments to give people who want to get out of cars a real choice. Show me who is happy moving around Ottawa.

Thanks to everyone who helped craft up our letter to the city, we have been invited to participate in the stakeholder meeting next week regarding the Bank Street Active Transportation and Transit Priority Feasibility Study!

Strong Towns Ottawa has sent a letter to the project manager for the Bank Street Active Transportation and Transit Priority Feasibility Study (yea it's a mouthful 😭) to request to be part of the stakeholder consultation group later this month!

Elder Dragons I find it hilarious how pretty much almost every elder dragon is a "bender" of some sort, but Nergi in particular is just an elder dragon because he's angry enough to throw hands with literally anyone lol

Some of our members have been working on a visualization of property tax income for the city, we'll be releasing more information in the future on this, but it really does do a great job of showing what changes we can make to get our city finances back on track! #ottawa

I guarantee that every driver that can't resist the allure of that sweet sweet empty dedicated bus lane when there's a bit of congestion is also one who complains that bikes roll through stop signs.

We managed to get some data from the survey of the Bank Street Transportation Study. It's very clear that most responders want less space for parking, and more space for better transit!

I am 36 and spend 90% of my time at work helping others code ... but sometimes it still feels great to have no meetings on a day, reheat some leftover pizza, have a glass of Pepsi and just bust out a metric boatload of code! Sure my body can barely handle it anymore ... but let me relive my youth!

I'm a senior software developer. If I were to start a new job at a new place... I'd still be a senior software developer and I'd still be paid the same amount (or more) than I did at my last job. That's perfectly normal... this is just how career development works. The same applies to talent!

Today is a sad day. It's hard to watch a creator you love leave the space and while you wish them the best, it's still hard. On an unrelated note... probably going to start getting into the indie scene. I hear an upcoming Nimi Nightmare might be worth checking out!

Ontario cities will now have even less power and local control over their own streets, so much for "small government." Even sadder is knowing that Mayor Sutcliffe will just go along with this gross overstepping by Ford and the Conservatives. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

cbc.caMayor says Ottawa will follow province's bike lane requirements | CBC NewsOttawa's mayor won't push back if Ontario starts requiring cities to seek approval to build bike lanes that remove lanes of traffic, saying transportation policies require "balance."

NEW: Premier Doug Ford's bike lane removal law has now been passed by the Ontario legislature. The government has been preparing to remove three lanes: University Ave. Bloor St. and Yonge St. #onpoli

Drove to Toronto to visit some friends. The DVP was completely grid locked when merging from the 401 on a Saturday! I'm absolutely certain that this massive 4 lane highway interchange on the edge of the city was completely backed up because 4 km of bike lanes happen to exist inside the city!

REMINDER: Those choosing to live in subsidized suburbs for a bigger house and yard are NOT also entitled to free-flow car traffic capacity (aka an β€œeasy car commute”) into the city at the expense of the taxes, health, safety (hint: bike-lanes) & quality of life of city-dwellers. HT Ian Lockwood.

I don't pre-order anything anymore. I've learned my ADHD will usually have different plans for me whenever whatever it is eventually comes out and too many things go unused. That said my Beware of Chicken 4 pre-order went through today and I am hyped! Thanks CasualFarmer!

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive. This is what oligarchy looks like.
