I Read Movies 📖 🎥 🍿

This was a great listen. I’ve owned the novelization for years, but not read it. So true to his tag line, Pax took care of that for me and it delivered. Several fascinating story points that were left on the cutting room floor.

Oh hey @michaelmay.bsky.social just watched this!!

Brand new episode!! It’s the Halloween episode where I cover the Ghostbusters 2 novelization by Ed Naha!! I also talked about the UK version of the Ghostbusters novelization by Larry Milne. cultfilmclub.com/i-read-movie...

Hey, the new episode goes up on Thursday where I'm covering Ghostbusters 2, so why not dip back into the archives and re-listen to when I covered the first Ghostbusters novelization? It is newly added to the CFC podcast feed. Check it out.

I always get this movie title mixed up with the bar from Three’s Company. Which was the Regal Beagle.

I have this too! Really need to schedule both of the Conan movies. Actually I may have the first Conan scheduled for next year! 🤔

On the schedule! I want to finish out the MCU adult novelizations.

CHARLES ANGELES Written by Elizabeth Lenhard

OUT NOW! Though it sadly lacks a novelization, we've simply done too much Resident Evil stuff not to cover the new movie. Trevor Thomas is back from our Alien: Isolation episode! Kris Sundet returns from our video game season! We like the movie! Come hang out! Listen: shorturl.at/lDZ45

It’s #BatmanDay !!! Check out the Batman movie novelizations I’ve covered on the show thus far. The Nolan novelizations will be next. cultfilmclub.com/i-read-movie...

Here you go, brand new episode of IRM where I drive right into the junior novelization of 1988's License to Drive starring the "two Coreys"; Haim and Feldman! cultfilmclub.com/i-read-movie...

CLEOPATRA JONES Written by Ron Goulart

OUT NOW! We have completed our Beatles season! And any season completion, no matter how short, warrants a ranking episode. As per usual, it's a looser, more casual kind of hang. As is less usual, we got Johnny and @markstay.bsky.social to join in on the fun! Listen: shorturl.at/lDZ45

EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE Written by Jeremy Joe

Brand new episode of IRM today where I drive a "borrowed" vintage Ferrari through the 1986 novelization of the John Hughes classic, Ferris Bueller's Day Off! buff.ly/J91A4Yv

Tomorrow…

OUT NOW! For our 5-year anniversary episode Mike Mitchell of @doughboys.bsky.social joined to discuss one of his favorite films, Raiders of the Lost Ark! The novelization has some great stuff, but also some terrible stuff. Ain't that life?! Listen: shorturl.at/lDZ45

Just added the Howard The Duck novelization to my Summer reading list. I wonder if @paxholley.com would consider covering this on @ireadmovies.com for the 40th anniversary this year 🤔

Quick answer, I did it several years ago. More complicated: It’s one of the early episodes, you should be able to find it on the old IRM feed. However, I just now moved that episode over to CFC, so give it a minute to refresh ireadmovies.libsyn.com/howard-the-d...

Went to browse at Half-Price Books, not planning to buy anything, ended up walking out with a $10 copy of the novelization of Zardoz, which is a thing that exists in the world. #zardoz

Books to Films 📚=🎞️ Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker (1976) by Alan Dean Foster is the novelization of Star Wars. It is based on earlier drafts with an alternate opening: Another galaxy, another time. Vader force snatches a cup rather than choking an imperial. ☬💫⚔︎ #filmsky #booksky

Went to some great bookstores today. And saw an OG copy of the ALIEN movie novelization. Yes. I'm a nerd. I know.

Just came across this review for Marvels: The Novelization, and it left me nearly speechless. It's a NOVELIZATION, man.

Oh snap they’re covering StarTrek/X-Men Planet X!!! Can’t wait to listen to that.

I think I see a couple of novelizations in there. 👀

I’m very curious about this.
