The line Trump referenced today from Apocalypse Now, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning," is about the absurdity of war and the profound psychological damage it inflicts on everyone involved. Seems like Trump was, unintentionally, right on target. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...

The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House. When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases. For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.

ICE agents in Worcester, Massachusetts arrested a mother outside of her home with her newborn baby and 16 year old daughter. The 16 year old stood in front of the ICE vehicle holding the baby. She handed the baby to a neighbor & fled. Police caught up to her, in a heartbreaking scene.⬇️

Someone should ask Miller which article of the Constitution the Suspension Clause is located

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Stephen Miller says they are “actively looking at” suspending the writ of habeas corpus, which is only allowed when the US has been invaded or during an insurrection, which would not allow people to challenge their incarceration in court if they are arrested and detained.

A week ago today, FBI agents arrested Judge Hannah Dugan on courthouse grounds on outrageous charges. Immediately, Trump officials like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi began to celebrate. But this is not going well for them, and it’s going to age like milk on a Miami sidewalk. 🧵

Yesterday, HHS released a controversial report on gender-affirming care for transgender youth. They say: “chapters of the report were peer-reviewed” but won’t say who wrote it or who reviewed it... That’s very...unusual. Of course, no major U.S. medical society was involved. 🧵 Let’s dive in:
