I dislike smart home things that don't have the matter qr code or join code on the product. I now have a stack of Hue manuals and Wiz bulb box tops that I think I need to keep forever in case I have to re-add the bulbs to my hub.

Lesson: Don't use AI for stuff you don't need AI for. Phones, watches, computers and alarm clocks have been able to set a reminder for decades, without AI or checking if it is day or night.

I use Home Assistant to schedule our outdoor lights by sunrise/sunset and all it does it use a basic script to check the National Weather Service and it's free
