I am absolutely baffled and heartbroken. He was an indisputable voiceover talent, and still so incredibly young at that. He had so much mileage left as an artist and as a person, and he was taken from this world far, far, far too soon.

MONKEY WRENCH IS COMING TO NETFLIX! The secret that's been kept for the past 8 months! The first 5 episodes of Monkey Wrench are officially coming to NETFLIX on AUGUST 19th! Fully remastered and re-engineered audio! New multiple language dubs! New intro sequence! #monkeywrench #indieanimation

My Star Wars hot take is that the Phantom Menace had the BEST score in the entire franchise, but it is far, far better utilized in Attack of the Clones. Side note, I can't think of any other examples where films use the exact same score between sequels. Made the Prequels feel more like a TV series.

I know β€œchatbot entropy” probably isn’t linguistically correct but It just feels right Chatbot entropy

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

I don't think Anthropic really meant it this way but what an amazing demonstration of why generative AI's energy consumption is only getting worse, and dirtier. "Improvements" only come from nesting chatbots within chatbots, rather than any fundamental smarter design. It's Bitcoin x 1000

Black Forest Labs (like Stability AI) likely took a bunch of work off the internet in order to train their AI. A bill in California would force transparency in their dataset. Want to help it pass? Please sign this petition in support, it'll take you 2 minutes: tinyurl.com/4uxbp963 1/

1/ This company’s models were trained on web scraped datasets (like LAION) and their founders are ex-Stability AI employees who engage in the same thieving practices that led artists like myself to sue Stability. GenAi companies NEED big names to sanitize their exploitation and crippling PR.

It rots the senses in the head It keeps imagination dead It clogs and clutters up the mind It makes a child so dull and blind He can no longer understand a fairytale and fairyland His brain becomes as soft as cheese His thinking powers rust and freeze He cannot think, he only sees

A HUGE thank you from the Gameoverse crew! They ensured every frame looked as beautiful as possible ❀️

This is like my 5th or 6th rewrite of this series bible. I've got a much stronger grasp of my four main darlings, but I'm banging my head trying to make number five engaging and distinct. I feel strong about this character's inclusion and story function, but I'm struggling to nail the personality.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 announced (Age 1000 project - coming 2027 for PS5/Xbox Series/Steam)

These so-called use cases for AI are always different variations of β€œyou can talk to it.” β€œA famous actor can judge your performance.” β€œYou can do a scene with a famous or deceased figure.” Join a local acting group in your area. Meet new people. Why reduce genuine human connection to mere slop?

USC Has Just Launched an AI β€œInstitute” for Actors

bit.lyUSC Has Just Launched an AI β€œInstitute” for ActorsFor most of its short modern existence, AI has been seen as an enemy of actors β€” a dinger of their craft if not swiper of their jobs β€” as synthetic media is prompted instead of performed.USC wants to switch all that up.The university’s School of Dramatic Arts has just launched anΒ β€œInstitute For Actor-Driven Innovation” that administrators hope will give performers a chance to benefit from, instead of lose to, the rise of artificial intelligence.β€œUp until now actors have really been on the wrong end of these changes,” Emily Roxworthy, dean of theΒ USCΒ School of Dramatic Arts, tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. β€œWe want to do something about that.”At the outset the institute will focus just on helping students understand the rudiments of AI. USC will work with Adobe on educational events like one scheduled for later this month (the company is a sponsor of the institute) as well as build lab spaces and β€œstudent think tanks where they can be given equipment and guidance,” according to Roxworthy. Eventually, though, AI will be presented as something acting students could use to augment their craft and careers.Roxworthy envisions a host of use cases, from reading with legendary scene partners (resurrected Olivier, anyone?), to getting advice on setting up a production company, to receiving notes from A-listers who would not otherwise be available, to even having AI serve as a de facto representation for the many students not yet signed, in a kind of twist on the term AI agent.β€œThey can have somebody β€” or something, I suppose β€” that is combing breakdowns for them and really looking out for them in a way that representatives would,” Roxworthy says. Actors who need to know how to control their likeness might also be part of a joint class with the law school. (Roxworthy called the institute β€œadmittedly a really ambitious undertaking.”)The institute will be run day-to-day by Tomm Polos, who currently serves as a chair at USC in β€œcreator arts,” which explores the influencer economy from an academic standpoint, and also moonlights as the hype man for the Dodgers.β€œActors have always been master navigators of uncertainty, ambiguity, and the full range of human experience,” Polos said in a statement. β€œIn a world increasingly shaped by AI, those capacities are not relics of the past; they are the most vital competencies of the future.Β USC-IAI is here to put those competencies to work,” he said, using the institute’s acronym.

Already got my tickets. Gonna be curious to see what box office numbers are going to look like. There's a legitimate demand for adult animation that isn't another "Family Guy-esque" sitcom, where the focus is on sincere characterization and mature storytelling rather than raunchy gags.

The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.

My most Old Man Yells at Cloud opinion is I miss when shows had 22 or 24 episodes. Time to breathe. Everything is so rushed now unless it's telling a very small/contained story. UBI SUNT.

I feel like we could have UBI if everyone received a cut of these sales. Like, damn, if you're gonna buy my data for malicious purposes, I feel like the very least you could do is give me... 30%. If you're paying, say, $5,000 for my data, I don't think me getting $1,500 of that is too much to ask.

Data brokers buy up huge amounts of information from cell phones and browsers to sell for targeted advertising. But the government, including ICE, also buys the data. n.pr/4t5Y8GQ

Obviously, that's not the takeaway I should have from this article. To the Shadow Realm with ICE and all these godless institutions. This is just a thought I've had for a while. It's my data. Pay me, or get your grubby hands out of my stuff.

Pseudoregalia ALONE makes this bundle worth it! Such an underrated metroidvania. It really shows how versatile a Mario 64-inspired moveset can be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed there's a sequel in the pipeline! There's so much more you could do with Pseudoregalia's gameplay, story and characters.

Last day to get Humble Games Bundle: Humble Heroines buff.ly/iXw4xom #ad

This is a victory in every sense of the word! It's ridiculous that fully completed, ready-to-release films are able to be scrapped and shelved with no regard or appreciation for the cast and crew who put so much work into them. No wonder the entertainment industry has been in nonstop strike mode.

β€˜COYOTE VS ACME’ has been officially saved by Ketchup Entertainment, who bought the film for $50M They plan to give the film a worldwide theatrical release in 2026.
