Going to be deploying the last two updates to Unraid tonight to keep it secure. Fun stuff lately being a self hoster 😂

We have a couch to sit on in our house again. It's been 9 weeks ... This renovation is getting closer to being done...

I've noticed that whenever I see a news story about something in my area of expertise, it gets about 40% of the facts correct. I try to remember that when I read stories in areas I'm not knowledgeable about.

I'm thankful to see some traction for an alternative in St James from the incumbent. It's my only hope for real change.

Oh no! What are they gonna do? Turn their property into a long term rental? Or even sell their property? Don’t threaten me with a good time. techcrunch.com/2026/10/21/a...

As the count continues, we are getting a clearer picture of the results from Monday's AB referendum: 1. Separation was trounced 2. No real mandate on the heavily pushed Q1-9 Big picture: the Urban-Rural divide Cgy+Edm voted No on all questions Rest of Alberta (combined) voted Yes

I hope Connor Hellebuyck is ready for when he gets the treatment (likely worse) that Brady Tkachuk is getting tonight. He deserves it all, and then some. #NHLJets

Sens fans came ready for Brady Tkachuk’s first game back in Ottawa 😂 Some of the best signs from tonight’s game ⬆️

"F*** you Brady" Its like music to my ears.

"You eat Crayons"

There is a guy wearing a Turning Point USA hoodie unironically at Boo at the Zoo tonight. It took all my energy to keep my thoughts to myself. 🤢

Found time during this hectic renovation in our house to direct, test and release a new minor version bump for LatestArr. Pretty excited how this app is maturing, still needs more real-world testers for some adapters, but it's coming along!

And some of us will never forget. Betrayal, dishonesty and down-right poor ownership doomed this club. #ValourFC #CanPL bsky.app/profile/nort...

So not socialism at all

Nine days into the NHL's regular season, the Winnipeg Jets are 2nd in the league, without Connor Hellebuyck playing. Hellebuyck, meanwhile, has forfeited US $344,044 (and counting) since the Jets started their season without him. You can track how much money he's giving up, second by second, here:

ah damn, RIP Margaret Hamilton. she took safety-critical software engineering seriously, and got people to the moon and back. news.mit.edu/2026/margare...

Elon Musk is South African because Saskatchewan wasn’t white enough for his grandfather in 1950.

Another creative edit for this jersey 😂😂

The new Tory leader walked right into the trap and showed both his insensitivity and his ignorance. To understand Kinew's answer in French, all he had to do was turn on his live translation. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

No wonder he can't sell property in prime locations, the man is in competent. What a joke this mayoral election is. #winnipeg

I mean, I love a Falafel House breakfast, but doesn't this look poor when we're celebrating a tax cheat?

How to risk losing a possible vote in the upcoming Winnipeg civic election. Step 1: Ignore signage and place flyer anyway. 😒😤 #winnipeg

Oh, and I did a thing (with help from Claude Code). It's my first real 'app' and contribution back to a homelab/selfhosting community that has helped me with so much over the past year or 2. Openly looking for testers. www.latestarr.app #arrstack #homelab #selfhosted

A *massive* overhaul of phys-ed, nutrition + sex-ed is underway in Manitoba. The only dedicated education reporter in MB, I've spent the better part of back-to-school season combing over curriculum (new + old) for @winnipegfreepress.com. Here's an #mbed thread with all our #wfp coverage. 1/x

If you're wanting to move from Trakt given their API shenanigans, I started a rough little script or two that helps move your watch history from Trakt (or Tautulli) to SIMKL without having to subscribe. If you can, support SIMKL though, they are awesome. github.com/jshields-ca/... #SIMKL #Trakt

Another big step forward on the kitchen/hallway/pantry renovations. Demo is a lot of fun, I think @hannalittle.bsky.social would agree. 😍 She's a beast 💪
