If you know of someone who could benefit from this, we'd love it if you passed it along!

Blue Ridge Ruby@blueridgeruby.com

Today we're pleased to announce we're opening up 10 scholarship tickets to Blue Ridge. We're especially interested in helping students, folks in career transition, and those recently impacted by job loss. Fill out our short application form and our team will be in touch with you!

Just arrived at the airport, heading from San Francisco to Amsterdam for Rails World 2025! Excited and can't wait! :) If you're in Amsterdam, shoot me a message - I'd love to say hello. Will land a bit before noon Monday #RailsWorld

Added notification hooks to my ~/.claude/settings.json file to have Claude Code notify my using terminal-notifier when it needs my attention - make sure to enable notifications for terminal-notifier in System Settings on Mac after you've installed it. Link in the replies.

Managed to implement a share extension in my little Rails Hotwire Native Link-read-it-later app. You can go to a website in Safari and hit share, and send it to the Hotwire Native app so you can save it and read it later

Just got back home from #RailsConf - what a great conference. It was great to see familiar faces and meet up with old as well as new Ruby friends. I miss you all! Can't wait till we all get the chance to hang out again

Come join us in November for the San Francisco Ruby Conference! 🙌🏼

Irina Nazarova@inazarova.bsky.social

Speakers include the legends like @obiefernandez.bsky.social, Jeremy Evans, @getajobmike.ruby.social.ap.brid.gy Mike Perham, and Vladimir Dementyev, and new open source stars like @marcoroth.dev, Carmine Paolino, and @tonsoffun.bsky.social Justin Bowen, and many more!

I love how Claude Code creates a checklist before tackling a problem based on your prompt. It provides a clear, easy-to-read overview of its plan, making it simple to follow along as it writes the code. 🧑‍🍳😚

I haven't used Cursor's AI features, except for their tab suggestions, in weeks. Lately, it's been all about Claude Code for me. I find it much better and more enjoyable to work with.

If you do any sort of stripe checkout development, do yourself the favor and add the test card to your password manager so you don't have to waste time smashing that into the credit card form every time.

Have you ever wanted to see Sutro Tower up close? Now you can! I'm releasing a very high quality model of the tower that you can easily fly through on your own, thanks to very cool developments in Gaussian splatting 🧵...

🎉 High Leverage Rails is now available! Simplify your stack, scale from zero to IPO. High Leverage Rails is a video course for beginners by Rails educator @fractaledmind.bsky.social. You'll learn how to build faster and ship quality apps with less code and less hassle.

With Apple TV+'s Severance Season 2 coming out next week, we decided to rewatch the first season (it's been almost three years!). Had forgotten how good it is. I thought starting just over a week before the release would give us enough time to finish it, but we ended up finishing in just two days! 😅

Any tips on achieving the following? I have a tiptap editor, and I want all styles stripped from text and links when I paste them into the editor. I plan to apply custom styles to the pasted links, but the key point is that I don't want any styles to carry over.

I feel sort of dumb that I either didn't know, or had forgotten that `rails g resource` was a thing (the resource generator) 🤔 I often just run `rails g model` and then creator the controller manually or used that generator 😂

What a great way to look at things

nothing changed my career for the better more than letting go of the fear of never being good enough and instead embracing the joy of knowing I can always find something to get better at

As a trans person, my main concern is having equality and safety for all trans people. Last night, fueled by a desire to have the world be better I put together the start of something new. I'm not going back, but things won't get better without action. equalityandsafety.com

Even though I’m anxious and terrified as heck, I’m real happy I’m on Bluesky on this election night with all of you great people (and not on that other grim site)
