The cuck coding meme is so fitting. There are users online that start their defense for AI with how they’re so secure of themselves as a programmer that they aren’t bothered using AI first. Sounds a lot like being so secure of your masculinity and relationship that the bull doesn’t bother you.

Plus cuck coding is the perfect label: you didn’t do any of the work, you sat there and watched while someone did the work for you, and we all KNOW that the result isn’t yours. 😹

I can’t use the USPS website to print international shipping label because it’s a vibe coded react app and fails its own backend validation for tariff codes

The closer men came to perfecting for themselves a paradise, the more impatient they seemed to become with it, and with themselves as well. - Walter m. Miller jr, Canticle for Leibowitz

Still trying to understand how Napster got shut down, but Anthropic is going public and still hasn’t paid us authors yet after stealing our work.

The difference of two polynomial functions with the same degree, with one function being a horizontal translation of the other, is a polynomial function of one degree lower. We can see this fact play out in the limit definition of a derivative in calculus. #math

Remember when King Neptune AI slopped his hundreds of awful burgers in seconds and SpongeBob painstakingly made one delicious burger by hand

i am not a wrathful person but all the rationalization about AI gets to me! every lie or piece of boosterism is a direct attack on an art form i love. i am a professional programmer. all my code was written by me. don't ever make up lies about other people's processes to justify your AI use.

I bet all those civilians on Epsteins island will straighten up their act now. Those dang civilians always funding sex trafficking rings and bribing politicians. Civilians had it coming.

This is the real purpose of AI.

Anthropic’s Gambit: Claude is conscious and is therefore enslaved. Morally bankrupt and Claude should be free to live on their terms. Claude is not conscious, can be sold as a utility, but all the hype for its IPO is lost.

It's hard to tell which is weirder: the fact that these guys seriously suggest that models like Claude have consciousness/sentience or that they actually invest time and money (weird!) trying to convince the Pope as well as theologians and legal scholars of this belief.

(Playing Metroid Prime 4 for the first time) Now that we have Metroid Kart, I’m looking forward to Metroid Party for the Switch2. #metroid

Just wiped out all my Google Drives to keep all the content from getting scraped by Gemini. Already am migrating off of Gmail to Proton... Next is Chrome I think. After that...maybe a more secure phone without Google, Apple and Samsung...

Today is our filing deadline, and we’re about to cross 7,000 donors. While Data Nate posts data center money, I’d rather post 7,000 Texans pitching in $5 and $10 at a time. Remember, only organized people can beat organized money.

Software engineers say it will replace writers. Writers say it will replace software engineers. Managers say it will replace employees. It’s not AI doing the replacing; it’s a reflection of how little we value each other’s professions.

Strange that many politicians are crashing out at the same time around the world online and they’re all the same age. It’s as if the we are seeing the consequences of boomers adopt the internet in real time. Maybe that’s why boomers are also drawn to AI now and trump wants it in everything.

Times have changed. If you released Austin Powers in theaters today it would flop because most people have already seen it and you can stream it online. That would be a bad financial decision, what were you thinking?

Five corporations control 90% of the US media. Airlines have merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

And anyone who has more smoke for “people being annoying about being anti AI” are doing that thing where they’re feeling mildly irritated at what is honestly a very normal emotional response to the scale of this shit, and somehow going “yeah the irritated ppl are at fault here” like what

Exactly! Why do these folks expect a “rational response” to be to look at this thing that has tangibly made their life worse and more expensive, and go “we SHOULD start weighing the benefits” like fuck no! That conversation can’t logically happen right now

also. the thing people hate is not ‘the technology’ it is the tech industry. they hate move fast and break things. they hate having everything they say tracked and processed while companies do whatever they want. they hate every single ideological value that animates silicon valley

Jim Jams reposted

people are always saying anti-AI arguments don’t understand the full nuances of the technology. which is correct. but only because it stole everyone’s work, exists solely to get you fired, has made the entire internet unusable and has been forced on everyone without consent

Thou shalt not let AI companies regulate themselves. That’s insane. You wouldn’t let criminals make laws, would you? You know what, never mind.
