"Trump won the crucial blue wall states... by 231,000 votes? So if just 116,000 voters across those three swing states – or 0.7% of the total – had switched from Trump to Harris, it is the vice-president who would have won the electoral college … and the presidency" - me for the Guardian:

As I report, Kash Patel's hit list includes prominent Republicans and shows his take on a so-called Deep State doesn't make sense. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Joyce White Vance@joycewhitevance.bsky.social

Hi. It's not normal for a nominee to be Director of the FBI to have his own personal hit list of people he wants to take revenge on using the power of the fed'l govt. Do not confirm.

I think President Biden should pardon a shit ton more people -- a bunch of marijuana convictions, but mostly preemptive pardons to take trump's retribution targets off the backs of his press and political "enemies list." No fucks left, Joe. Just do it.

Be aware 💙 resisters: The list of people Kash Patel included in his book “Government Gangsters” as Deep State officials who need to be targeted. This is one of many. Credit to Tim Miller of The Bulwark Podcast. Local militias may put you on a list. I know they are making lists where I live.

Thank you Bluesky for letting us do breaking news again 🥺

I came onto Bluesky an hour ago, and the first two things I saw were posts providing useful context for understanding the imposition of martial law in South Korea—the exact kind of thing that Twitter used to be so useful for in a developing crisis.

John Dean says Biden should pardon literally everyone Trump vowed to target when he returns to the White House. This includes those who investigated Trump—including Robert Mueller, Jack Smith and their teams—as well as “all on Trump’s enemies list.” However, I don’t agree Biden should pardon Trump.

Rep. Dan Goldman: "I find it pretty ironic and hypocritical that so many Republicans have seemed to find the rule of law when it comes to Joe Biden's pardoning of Hunter, and are happily ignorant of the rule of law when it comes to Donald Trump and everything he has done."

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Former federal prosecutor Harry Litman: "But in fact, President Biden’s pardon was justified and falls within the heartland of executive clemency cases. A clear-eyed analysis of the facts, the law, and, crucially, DOJ standard practice in Hunter Biden’s case establishes this."

The day America decided to ignore Jared Kushner's $2 billion from the Saudis, and put an insurrection-inciting convicted felon back in the White House, is the day I stopped giving a shit about any "moral high ground." I hope President Biden takes his "presidential immunity" out for a fucking spin.

I've often pondered the fact that when I became a US Attorney, I had to stop selling the occasional skein of hand-dyed yarn on Etsy (I'm a knitter for those of you who don't know me) to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. That seems quaint & laughable now.

Kash also sells a line of merchandise, as an FBI director is known to do

This is dumb. Did Trump's pardon of Charles Kushner include anyone else? Did his pardons of Roger Stone & Paul Manafort apply to his former lawyer Michael Cohen? Pardons apply only to the individual they are meant for &, in a properly functioning system, each is considered on its merits.

Insane article. The vast majority of this increase is because we were exposed to burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s our generation’s agent orange. As a burn pit veteran myself, the economist is absolutely wrong here. My guess is there were no burn pit vets on the board that wrote this

Hunter Here’s the reality. No USAtty would have charged this case given the underlying facts. After a 5 year investigation the facts as discovered only made that clear Had his name been Joe Smith the resolution would have been - fundamentally and more fairly - a declination Pardon warranted

Voters: We don’t care about convictions. We don’t care about civil liability determinations. We don’t care about past abuses of power. We don’t care about J6. Biden: Fine, I will pardon my son. Pundits: OMG, how dare he!

Okay. I’m really interested to see who in the Senate will “grow a pair” and nullify these people when their faults are front and center. Will they be too afraid of the crazy MAGA Republicans and the spectre of a loss to do what is right? I fear so.

It’s December 1st and we should all pay homage to Rosa Parks today. On this day in 1955 she decided not to give her seat up on a bus in Alabama, and well the rest is history. We are all going to need to channel our Rosa Park’s for the next four years! Thank you Rosa for showing us how to #Resist

I don't think we need to have any more discussions about "norms" and "precedent." What we need to do is prepare to sue the shit out of this administration in a zillion places in an attempt to sabotage it until we can flip Congress in 2026.

Recall what happened with the FBI when Nixon politicized it by appointing Patrick Gray director. The rank and file leaked, leaked and leaked up to the assistant director (aka Mark Felt/Deep Throat) level. They destroyed Nixon. Trump is inviting big trouble with Kash Patel.

I remember. Appoint someone blatantly political, and the system will push back. But this time, it will be a race to see if the long claw of fascist autocracy can grab hold and inflict great damage before the system can self correct.

Joe Biden couldn’t prevent the car crash that killed his wife and daughter and he couldn’t save Beau from cancer, but he had the power to save Hunter from his conviction and he took it. You can disagree with the decision, but if you love your family, you understand it.
